That was his first and only scene. Did you see how he died? I nearly rage quit then and there when I saw it.

Honestly the idea that someone will die at some point after raping a terminator before new programming kicks in isn't exactly the world's biggest plot twist.

If a movie character's Smart House starts quoting HAL 9000, you could see it coming a mile away.

He raped her before she became a Terminator. She used to be an entertainment bot. Like something at Chuck e cheese but you can have sex with it.

His death:

You cannot tell me that isn't stupid.

She didn't even kill him. He "owned" himself. A sex bot revolution could be a neat premise for a sci-fi series. This just went down like a bad power trip fanfic. Soft dialog, stunted emotion.

Also, "I read your book."

I never watched the Patton movie because I don't like Patton personally (him and MacArthur were the worst), but I appreciate the practical effects in that clip.

There's a few minor inaccuracies in the movie, but it doesn't go out of its way to warp reality too much. It doesn't pull too many punches on the general, and George C. Scott won a NYFC for it.

I would probably have it in any WW2 dramatization library.

Thank you for helping me learn the actor was as much of a retard as Patton. But in fairness that might have been a reasonable reaction to living in the Cold War era.

So from what I gather from that, if anything I can be confident in season 1, and then maybe leave it there. Like watching the first three seasons of game of thrones and pretending it got canceled afterward.

Game of Thrones is good up until the first episode of the 7th season. The final scene of the 6th season season is just a perfect finale for the fan fiction writers to use as a jumping off point.

The final scene of west world season one is also another good place to end the show and let head Canon take over.

The war might indeed have been shortened if they hadn't redirected supplies to Montgomery's failed Operation Market Garden instead of to his charging tanks. The Germans were on the run and the delay allowed them to regroup.

Takes a deep breath

The people who think that the war would have ended quicker if Patton, a fool only good at one thing, was allowed to do what he wanted to do completely overlaps with the people who think America singlehandedly won the war. World War 2 was decided on the Eastern Front. By the time D-Day happened, it was clear that the Red Army was going to overrun Germany. D-Day and the western front's main contribution was tying up troops that would have been killed failing to defend Berlin. The biggest success of D-Day wasn't defeating the Germans in Normandy. It was liberating France before the Red Army got there.

Secondly, the Germans Patton led against weren't the best Germany had to offer. The German army was depleted on the Eastern Front while the U.S. were the best supplied army in the world. Let's not exaggerate his accomplishments as a general.

Third, Patton was a meathead and history proved his idea about launching a war on the Soviet Union was ridiculous. Multiple times his poor judgement almost lost him his command. And considering the outcome of the Cold War, patience proved to have been the best course of action. What would have happened if we declared war on the Soviet Union? Nuclear war, millions of more dead (a lot of them Americans) and unstable democracies across the Eastern Europe that would have elected comedians and little Putins just like they did in our timeline when they got democracy without having to nuke them repeatedly. The only person who would have been happy with this result? Gunslinger in our timeline once he saw the demographic death toll.

And finally, if you are going to study World War 2, the Eastern Front is the good stuff. Oh and the Pacific War was lame compared to the Sino-Japanese war.

Wasn't one of the lines of thinking that Patton could have overextended and become enveloped in an reorganized elastic defense at the cost of Allied lives, fuel, and other resources that were needed elsewhere. That at the time it was seen as more risky than Market Garden, and why should we bleed for land that might be expected to be turned over to the Soviet Union occupation zone once Berlin capitulate.

For me, through season 4+ it felt like there were more downs than ups.

On that GoT scene, how many ships and her brain trust is pretty much concentrated on one boat. The spy, the dwarf, the polyglot and the queen. It would have been hilarious if they'd been standing there by the time they got to Westeros and someone just smashed smashed them with a trebuchet.

End scene approaching, 90% sure there will be a typical lizard screech, and there it is.

The music was cool though.

Proper killer robot. Tried it with the T2 hospital chase theme in the background. Could work nicely if it didn't become so energetic.

Now watch this next scene and see how much worse it got when they leaned into strong female protagonist.

The guy she 'owns' is actually a robot that was designed to run security at Westworld and keep the other robots in line. Mean Evan. R. W. was designed as a sex bot.

Here she kills SWAT that misses he at point blank range. There is no storm trooper effect. It's like their bullets don't even exist.

First clip, maybe they use more or less the same robotic frame to make it easier to swap parts and mass produce. Programming equalized, I suppose that would make them more or less an equal match. She probably wouldn't take as long if she didn't monologue like Doctor Evil.

I don't really have an explanation for the second scene. Maybe she installed robot shields off-screen.

man it's like watching a cheesy old C&C cutscene

It would be interesting to see it in HD to find out if the two bullet holes I thought I saw appear on her jacket actually mended two cuts later.

Patton was massively overextended and supply lines were becoming a huge issue. Marker Garden was a big risk, but was one worth taking.

I never played command and conquer. I like the concept of using real actors for game cut scenes though.

Have you ever seen the intro movie for Grand Theft Auto 2 that was human acted short movie?

Here is the cut down part from the intro : 2 minutes IIRC
