The Yogscast played it a bit.
Personally, I think the mix between lots of combat and "minecrafting" doesn´t work too well.

You build an impenetrable fortress against enemies that aren't very challenging in the first place. After that, the survival aspect almost ceases to exist.
Terraria seems like it has more RPG/Adventure elements and that's what makes it appealing.
Probably the best stuff I've seen in survival mode were automated traps, resource collectors, tree farms and the like. I haven't seen too much megaconstruction, though, because collecting resources takes so much time. Your greatest threat aside from creepers and your own dumb self are nullified by building lookouts above arrow range and making sure there's at least one layer of blocks sticking out from the top of your building to block spiders from scaling it.
There's little motivation to build big, unless you love collecting materials for it.

Teleporting slimes made this game interesting when I tried multiplayer. Has it been patched yet?
T.T He decided to move into my bedroom when I placed a table and chair... weird. Maybe he doesn't like wood walls?

It's not as bad as when it was first released. Last time I checked, zombies were still teleporting right on top of you when they attacked from close range. Multiplayer is definitely playable though. 2 or 3 major patches, so far.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Game is pretty fun with a small group of people, at least until you finish it. Easily worth the $10 if you have any interest in a game like this.

Figured out why the merchant didn't move in to my house, cause the Guide had taken the room I made for the Merchant..
