Sorry but I was under the impression that Keynes was an adviser to the British government and all the other economies you are talking about were even more socialist then the Roosevelt administration?  That would kind of lead to the exact opposite conclusion.  Unless, you are arguing that laissez faire free market principles were demonstrated in Europe in the 30's?

Also, Germany is a fairly socialist country which (thanks to our socialism) is now the 5th largest economy in the world.  Don't know much about Japan tbh.

Japan is the third. China the second. U.S. first. Germany fourth. France fifth. Brazil sixth. U.K. seventh.

Yes, this post was pointless.

Japan's economy has been in the shitter for the past decade. there's a reason they call this the "lost decade" where their companies heavily rely on government subsidies and intervention to keep them afloat, borrowing money from the central bank than getting cash from selling shares.

Germany's economy recovered when they stopped paying their war reparations.

Keynes was never an divisor to the British government during that period, in fact the British government lowered interest rates to boost productivity instead of directly injecting money in the economy. Getting out of the gold standard was one of the big economic boosters during that period.

Pure Keynesian theory doesn't really work, pure free market theory certainly doesn't work, pure communism doesn't work, pure capitalism doesn't work.
Eventually we'll find something which kind of works.

As for the AU handouts, the mining economy and the rest of the economy are reasonably separate, and I don't think the "Cash for Bogans" scheme really had a huge impact, maybe the BER scheme injected a load of cash - uselessly for the long-term though.

Total student debt outstanding appears to have surpassed $1 trillion late last year, said officials at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a federal agency created in the wake of the financial crisis. That would be roughly 16% higher than an estimate earlier this year by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
That is what 7 or 8% of our GDP? You can't default on your student debts and unlike a house, you can't repossess or sell a degree. This could be a problem one day.

Maybe your government should stop giving out easy access student loans and force parents to become cosigners.

If we explain Keynesian economics we'd then have to explain the ridiculous concept of supply side economics. Then you're going to ask us about fiscal vs monetary policy.

Where would it end ken?

he'd ask us to read wealth of nations for him. then later tell us to study game theory at MIT and explain it all to him.

I still think he's a moron.  So nothing has changed here.

I think it was ill advised as there is a witness that has said he saw the shooter getting his ass kicked by the kid.  But hey, what are facts when Sharpton and Jackson can play the race card... For fucks sake though, the shooter isn't even white, but hell... Who cares.

I think the real reason the bamster has gotten involved is so that he can use this event to try and leverage out more gun restrictions/laws.   All the D's in Florida have jumped on that bandwagon calling for the repeal of the 'stand your ground law'.  Apparently they want to tilt the scale back to the side of the criminal.  Buffoons.

He still followed the kid and got out of his car with a gun to confront an innocent person who was just walking. The victim here would have had a good cause for sell defense if he had a gun and shot Zimmerman first.

As President, has the bamster signed anything into law that restricts guns rights?

That's what I thought at first until I read that article.

gunwalking operations and gun control legislation -a conspiracy theory.  tell us how the bamster got GWB into following his sinister plans all the way back in 2006.  did he use cold war era MKULTRA brainwashing or did the bamster threaten to expose the truth behind 9/11?

What I'm on about is that obama hasn't signed a single piece of legislation restricting any aspect of gun ownership, in fact he signed a bill allowing guns in national parks.

The 911 operator told the guy not to follow the kid. He followed the kid, attacked him, and shot him.

IMO he lost the self defense excuse when he disregarded the 911 advice and became the aggressor.
