There we go, in 47, few years after FDR's death/term ended.
I could never figure out why Americans think that's a good idea.Cybargs wrote:

blame congress. but it sounds good that no one could have "power for too long." there's still this irrational fear that one day in the us thered be a dictator.DrunkFace wrote:

You don't know that. Of course, it's a fair assessment, based on the recent changes there, but up until recently, it's only an assumption on others' part that the people being ruled by a dictator don't want to be ruled by that dictator.Cybargs wrote:

I'm sorry, but if you have to limit the term limits of your leaders then you have no faith in your democracy. If the people are happy with what a leader is doing for them and their country, why should and some arbitrary law force them to vote for a second or third choice candidate?FEOS wrote:

I believe term limits are called elections. But then again, I believe that our elections are relatively free of corruption.

It just seemed like you implied as much with your Egypt comment.
The Lincolnator
That would work with intelligent voters. Most voters vote for the name they recognize and not much else. Its whyvincumbents here win 95% of the time no matter how awful they might be at their job.DrunkFace wrote:
