Rocket/missile spam? Please, any decent tank guys can overcome any amount of rocket proliferation with good air/infantry support. That's why they call it combined arms, but I guess that's too complex a concept for modern gamers.

Now, when I last played the M-Coms only needed 8 hits to destroy them. I think this was very good number. I seldom recall any team member taking up rockets and attacking in this method. I cannot understand why this was patched out, it wasn't an issue.

Can anybody try firing 8 rockets at it just to be sure? I cannot fathom why they would want to increase it from 8 to 23.
Why? You're the one trying to prove a point here. You do it.

I don't have BC2 anymore, I left it Switzerland with my gaming PC.

I guess it's already confirmed with the stats. I just cannot believe DICE did something that fucking low. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though.

Low? I think it's a good idea, better than some cheap spamming of rockets.

It's not as easy as it sounds. When you're not using an AT4, which is extremely hard to get on target for me, you are quite vulnerable to sniper rifles when you come out of cover for a second to fire. A decent sniper could have taken me out, but thankfully most snipers are retards.

killing an mcom with 8 rockets takes all of a minute for a non-brain dead player to do. this is not hard, nor is it a team effort. bc2 is (supposed to be) a team game. how are you meant to be able to defend against one random firing missiles from miles away? some maps it's still impossible to defend easily on (arica first stage there is *literally* nothing you can do, a tank can kill both mcoms from attackers spawn)

It's a noob tactic anyway. Better to run in with your team, supporting each other and pressing forward till someone can get in, set the charge and then you all sit back and prevent anyone from disarming it.

Y'know, how the game is intended to be played.

a combo of those two. Movement of BF2 and graphics and features of BC2 (or better). But I will probably still prefer BF42 over anything new that comes in the BF series.

The one think I hated about BF2 was AT vs tank.
I'd like to see a hit on the tracks knock out the tracks, 1-2 hits knock out the tank, and support ammo packs not include 4 AT missiles because that was rediculous. Maybe include them in ammo drops.

I'd also like to see fixed armouries in bases as in DF-BHD since they actually made some logical sense.

I thought two hits to the right spots did kill a tank?  front or back of the tracks?  haven't played AT in a while.

Two hits on the back of the tracks usually did it. One with the TOW if you were lucky.

Also, AT had 6 rockets, not 4.

Yes, 1-2 hits does take out a tank if you hit it in the right spot. Usually it'll take three, but if the server's crowded, the tank's probably already damaged (you can get lots of 1-hitters on maps like Karkand). Alternatively, you could resort to mines or C4.

Personally, I like it better with a tank taking quite a bit of abuse before it pops. It requires people to file into tank hunter groups and actually apply *gasp* teamwork!

I liked the clans that made those tank hunter teams. They made my kills per minute increase far faster than the non anti tank classes that would just flee and hide.

I generally went 55-0 in a tank on kark.

tbh my favorite tactic was ninja C4 teams

I and a pubmate (or two) would go in as assault with shotguns, extra C4, and sneak into the MCOM building, quietly shooting any enemehs. then we loaded that MCOM up with C4, and blew that shit sky high in 1 second... then we would go around killing the retreating enemy team. Lots of points for everyone.

C4 demolition tactics are also fun, but that's a 1 person job, not a team tactic.

As for tanks, I think AT should carry 3-4 rockets, with resupply at weapon caches (a la 1942) and supply drops

Or instead of weapon caches, dead players act as supply caches for as long as they are there.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

That would work well on FriendlyFire ON servers...

And medics who need ammo would re-supply rather than revive..

The hell's wrong with having a support guy carrying ammo satchels like in BF2?

Nothing. and that's how they should do it tbh... LMG + Ammo packs is the best of any possible weapon & role combo I can think of..

Having separate assault and support classes makes sense. Combining engineer and AT also makes sense.

That's a lot of gear to juggle around. Launcher =/= grenade + mine + wrench.

I don't really remember anybody complaining in BF2 about there being "OMG, TOO MANY CLASSES."

Yeah, but having it more like BC2 where you choose either rockets or mines would work well. I think it's more about streamlining them where practical than the number of classes tbh. Giving medics LMGs is still a little weird.
