It's not so bad there? I'd call getting snow by the meter, on any given day, while being forced to have two cars, one a disposable winter car designed to last precisely three winters, a bad thing.
Uhh...what? lol, I have one car. I've only ever needed the one car which will easily last far more than just three winters. And I can't remember the last time we even got more than that 2 feet of fresh snow in any storm! Wherever you got your info, they made WNY seem very hellish!
If I owned a truck for plowing...then maybe I'd need to replace it every few years...but seriously! WNY just gets a lot of lake effect snow and that whole Blizzard of '77 thing really makes people think it's an annual occurance.
