It lacks incentive?  The people who have been tracking you for who knows how long (and know as much about you as they did), are involved in law enforcement, and CAN make your life very, very difficult use that line and it lacks incentive?  lolok
I guess you have some thing to fear, not me lolok

Either that, or I value not getting harassed in my daily life.  If a cop wants to get you, he will find a way.  Just on my drive to work, I probably speed a bit, maybe I don't provide adequate warning when changing lanes, or I do any number of other small infractions that would more than likely be overlooked...unless some LEO with an axe to grind has your life under a microscope.  If it came down to 'giving them the device back' or 'getting nailed for every little thing possible', I'd want to consult a lawyer and probably just give the damn thing back.

Where does it say they do have a warrant?

I'd video it being smashed to bits with a hammer, send them the video and see what happens.

Or put it on ebay.

They didn't need a warrant.  That's specifically mentioned in the article posted in the OP.  Read it or stop posting plz.

There was a federal court ruling not too long ago that said law enforcement does NOT violate anyone's rights by placing tracking beacons on cars, even if they are parked in a private driveway, without a warrant.

From the article if anyone in this thread bothered to read it-

His discovery comes in the wake of a recent ruling by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals saying it’s legal for law enforcement to secretly place a tracking device on a suspect’s car without getting a warrant, even if the car is parked in a private driveway.
So Marine is right (shudder).
Yeah, that's why i said i did think they did not have warrant, not that it was wrong they didn't have a warrant. That's not quite what marine was saying.

Apparently you have to be a Federal in order to get away with this type of bullshit.

http://www.kansascity.com/2010/10/12/23 … ni_popular

One person has been arrested for allegedly planting a GPS device on another person’s car Tuesday, forcing police to close down a city parking garage for most of the afternoon.

Charges are expected to be filed on Wednesday, Kansas City police said. The parking garage reopened on Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the garage at 12 and Oak streets just before 2:30 p.m. after people parked on the eighth level discovered a small black box under their vehicle.

According to police, those people had just come from the courthouse where they had obtained a protection order against another individual. As they approached their car, they saw that person walking away from it.

Motorists parked on the sixth level and above were not being allowed in, although those parked on the fifth level or below were being allowed to move their vehicles, according to police.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.
