Just enough butter to still be visible after it melted. Not something I usually do, but it was great with those mini potatoes.

Depends on how dry the steak is.

That's actually a good point. I never eat steaks without some "Liquid" to accompany it, I seldom eat steaks. When I eat them, I hate how dry they usually are, so I like either BBQ sauce (if BBQed) or I put butter on topROGUEDD wrote:

Otherwise, screw steaks, I like this thing we would have in Switzerland called an "Entrecôte de boeuf". Damn I miss those! They would always come on a hot piece of metal in a wooden frame with French fries and a salad, the best part though was this spicey sauce I'd dip the pieces in.
FUCK I miss Switzerland.

And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
Was the butter salted or unsalted, and what sauce was on the steak before hand? I'd only put butter on a well done steak, because those have little flavor. Like, ew. Steak rules.
That actually appears to be a steak. Looks like a better cut then T-bone, probably something like rib-eye. Looks kinda tasty... though kinda like pork.-Sh1fty- wrote:

Steak, dry??
WTF get a new chef people.
I don't put butter on it, it's not cooked in butter (it'd just burn). The only sauce I'd get on a steak would be a jus, a reduced red wine glaze or a pepper sauce.

Steak is best enjoyed in the Medium-Rare to Medium finishes, the juices in these states bring out the flavor of the meat. You wont need butter or any sauce on your meats if they are cooked right.
If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.

QFT. Steak shouldn't really ever be dry unless you ordered it burnt to a crisp (i.e. well done). Med rare is the way to go imo.DrunkFace wrote:

But OT, I don't mind buttering up a steak, makes it that much more rich.
No. GOD no!
Answered yes but after cooked and topped in butter, no. While cooking yes only way to keep those store bought steaks juicy.
