Its his second album. I bought it the second after I heard a few of his songs from that album. Its not a remix at all.
Server is shitting itself. Don't know whats going on. Everytime someone goes to exchange it just goes crazy.
I don't have any perpetual circuitry running. It could be shitting itself when trying to pop active pistons into view, especially for multiple people.
I don't usually have problems when warping to exchange.

Found the problem and the solution. Basicly my HDDs in Raid 0 are not fast enough to access the chucks and send them. So the server gets overloaded. The solution is to ether get an SSD or create a RAMDisk. Software for the ramdisk is expensive as hell.
how are you measuring this bottleneck?Naturn wrote:

Process of elimination. I removed every mod on the server and everything someone joins and warps to or walks to exchange the server gets overloaded and lags. Chucks load slow and mobs lag across the ground. Did some reading and come to find out the map is far too big for a standard disk size. The funny thing is i'm running raid 0 but both HDDs have small amounts of cache. I'm plan on taking the server down tonight after midnight to do tests. I won't be messing with it till then.jsnipy wrote:

Edit: Got any recommendations for software?

Server will be down all day tomorrow for different stuff. I'll post when i'm done and its back up.
Right: Spreading more torches, sometimes fancily.Left: Jay's random complaint brought up an interesting thought.
n x x x x n
n x x x x n
This represents blocks (x) and torches (n). Large non-hostile mobs need a 2x2 space of grass to spawn. On a 25x25 area, there are twenty potential spots to spawn on. If the torches are raised (on fence posts), this is reduced to 16. For a perfectly flat 5,000m2 area, this is 4,000 potential spawn spots. With the raised torches, this is 3,200 potential spawn spots. In theory, it should still be enough. I still see non-hostile mobs spawn within the torches and only a few more seem to spawn outside of them. There are a ton of areas around exchange where I still hear mobs growling underground, which are affecting both non-hostile spawns and trap efficiency.. Fill or light them up.
In practice, the areas beyond the placed torches also seem to have relatively few non-hostile mob spawns. A number of factors dictate mob spawns. Radius from player and the amount of mobs currently spawned. If two players are separated by a great distance, I'm assuming this divides potential mob spawns in half for each.
Creating enclosures like the one in the image could help. I plan on making a meat processor somewhere away from the exchange with a road leading back there for easy culling. I've built them in SP, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Torch off any spawners, dark caves or roofs you find to concentrate spawns where you want.
e: Server's now having huge problems loading chunks. I fall through the bedrock three or four times then disconnect.
Score.
Newbie, after reading your big post about torches, I have come to one main conclusion...
You take this game too seriously

i guess my nephew roamed the server yesterday, while i was eating. thanks guys, for making him feel welcomed . . .
Server is back up. For the time being avoid city of exchange please. The ramdisk I created has helped lag but its still there.
Edit: Solve the lag problem. It was not HDDs as I thought it is cause my the minecart track sensors. Jsnipy's tower was the cause of the lag in exchange. I want the sensors on all tracks replace with redstone torches. So who ever it was who suggested in the first thing my bad!!!

I have created the ramdisk and the minecraft server runs off of it. The load times have been decreased. Backups for the server are set for every 8 hours now too!

Le sigh, yeah as president of the Exchange DOT ill take care of re configureing the tracks tonightbennisboy wrote:

So it was the machine henge thing after all? ;D
Yes you were.RDMC wrote:

Hehehehe.
Machine henge could be updated with an off switch and keep the carts. The effect kinda grew on me.
Just lags too much tbh. I say if you want machine henge, build it somewhere far out of exchange. At outpost2, 3 or 4 or something. Then activate it there and watch it whenever you like.
I doubt it's necessary for stuff like the rail lines. That stuff is clicked on and off rather infrequently and they are spaced pretty far apart. Putting twenty switches together in a circuit that constantly turns on and off? Yeah, probably a bad thing.Eagle wrote:

Does the light house use this method to get its lights?
It has one minecart in a loop that turns a switch on and off in order to 'blink'.Naturn wrote:

Why not just use a simple red-stone repeater array?Jay wrote:
