Don't really try these days. I did go quite often growing up, but as of late, many different factors have materialized into lowering the importance of attendance, chief among which is that I'd have to walk a mile to get there and I'm never dressed before 1 PM on a weekend. That being said, I nulled because I feel like being a pedant about the wording of the poll options.
because im not christian, i don't believe in any of the central core beliefs or tenets of christianity, so i'd be a hypocrit if i attended one. my local community, family and social life do not revolve around a congregational set-up so there is absolutely no need either spiritually or socially to attend a church. i went to a school that was part of an old-network of english anglicanism and i had my fair share of religious hypocrisy having to pray and attend choir every week throughout my school years. now im old enough to be in charge of my own actions, thoughts and beliefs, i'd rather not be a massive hypocrit. i ain't christian, i don't wanna be christian --> i don't attend a christian place of worship.ig wrote:

Church about the singing, Uzique. It seems to me that only horrible old women sing. Even listening to the music isn't very enjoyable, except around Christmas.

I went to a proper Christian wedding yesterday.
Everyone's just too happy...

to be very honest im of the opinion that if you 'need' to look forward to anything in the after-life, something is wrong with you here and now in the living life. i have a very skeptical take on spirituality and the psychological purpose of having 'faith', and i have an even more skeptical and condemning opinion of organised religion. it's everyone's right to have their faith and to cling to it for whatever inner-strength they need... but just does not appeal to me. i'll face life and what it has to throw at me without falling back on some mystical god to help me or some old-bent fucker in a church to 'support' me.

I'm roughly Christian. I don't really subscribe to the adoring, singing angel, bearded old man god or fire-and-brimstone, horned-and-hoofed devil imagery that the mainstream churches promote. Don't take churches too seriously. Most people seem to go so they can prop up their own righteous egos, make other people feel bad about their clothing and smile upon their children as they whisper stuff for them to cutely, but ignorantly babble at the podium. I stopped going long ago, but kind of regret it. Beneath all the layers of assholes you can encounter, there are some pretty cool people there.
