Oh, is that what that strange looking building is. I kept looking at the spiraling metal work thinking, wtf?

This site has been a money pit and the public price tag your article lists doesn't include the years of clusterfuck false starts, contaminated soil, bad construction and straight up plunder by the unions that do LAUSD construction.

Nice, every school district should build at least one half a billion dollar school so that all the kids will really want to go there and and get a better education from the same teachers that taught them in the old school.

I guess the building is supposed to make all the difference in the education.

I would be embarrassed to go to school there. I don't think it's 'non-prison looks' will have the desired effect...

Why would that make any difference? There's even more idiots up north. In fact, they're the ones that did most of the design work for the current mess the state is in.

I wonder how many "normal" schools could have been built with the same amount of money, or how many teaching jobs could have been saved.  Instead, they built something that looks like it came out of a sci-fi metropolis with a cost that averages out to $140k per student when at full capacity.
