im of the opinion that, beneath the surface (no matter how calm and collected) every girl our age is an absolute fucking nightmare. insecurities, emotional instability, absolute unpredictability; total bombs just waiting to go off. almost every girl at this age that i have got close to, and really spoken to and have open up to me, has ended up being largely the same: deep-rooted insecurities, mega self-doubts, image-issues etc. all that. even the prettiest girls in the world end up having the same root-level problems if you can get through their self-defenses and reach the bottom of it. any attempts to get close and stay close to girls at this age ends up being the most self-destructive thing in the world: you wear yourself out trying to fix problems and help with things that they can't even help themselves with. have fun, enjoy each other's company... but fucking spare the seriousness; take everything for what it is, have a laugh and remember you've got the rest of your life to be a grown up.
stressing every day and having major 'mares and flare-ups over melodramatic shit... at this age... is like unconsciously living out a jeremy kyle episode or an eastenders omnibus or something. just stop being so dramatic and putting yourself through so much every day. learn to give yourself a break - i did, and you feel much better for it. relationships are only good as long as they're fun. PERIOD.
