That read like a column in The Sun, but it's spot on. I've been trying to tell you for ages to let it go, me and Rowena have told you to let it go. This is the reason why.Uzique wrote:
lol finray yes it fucking is. i lived with a girl for a whole year in a house, like a married couple and thought she was 'the one' too.
i'd had about 4 long-term relationships, very serious, before her too.
jenni is your first and you're stuck in the doldrums of teenage puppy-love. she's playing games. she loves the fact she still has your undivided attention as soon as she can turn around and call on you: GIRLS LOVE THAT. girls love the empowerment and they love the feeling and security that they'll NEVER BE ALONE. and it's all at your EXPENSE. if the girl loved you back she wouldn't put you through it: she'd know that the best thing for you is to have a CLEAN SEPARATION and to move on with your lives. she likes being able to dip back in and dredge up all the old, painful feelings. my most recent ex did the same thing: she loved feeling like she was 'being nice' by being my friend again, when really she was doing it vicariously just for the sake of cuddling her insecurities and making her feel better about herself. you've gotta face the plain FACT that girls this age aren't ready for serious commitment, they love all forms of attention and they'll keep on hurting you in the name of 'LOVE' for as long as they want.
the sooner you man up the better, cause NOTHING good will EVER come of the situation you're in now. she'll bang a few guys and maybe, hey, one day maybe she'll come back to you. but it'll EAT you up, your relationship will NEVER be the same again after this 'break' and you'll NEVER be happy with her again. FACE IT. what you once shared together is gone, and you can't live in the past. fuck that. you're 18.

im of the opinion that, beneath the surface (no matter how calm and collected) every girl our age is an absolute fucking nightmare. insecurities, emotional instability, absolute unpredictability; total bombs just waiting to go off. almost every girl at this age that i have got close to, and really spoken to and have open up to me, has ended up being largely the same: deep-rooted insecurities, mega self-doubts, image-issues etc. all that. even the prettiest girls in the world end up having the same root-level problems if you can get through their self-defenses and reach the bottom of it. any attempts to get close and stay close to girls at this age ends up being the most self-destructive thing in the world: you wear yourself out trying to fix problems and help with things that they can't even help themselves with. have fun, enjoy each other's company... but fucking spare the seriousness; take everything for what it is, have a laugh and remember you've got the rest of your life to be a grown up.
stressing every day and having major 'mares and flare-ups over melodramatic shit... at this age... is like unconsciously living out a jeremy kyle episode or an eastenders omnibus or something. just stop being so dramatic and putting yourself through so much every day. learn to give yourself a break - i did, and you feel much better for it. relationships are only good as long as they're fun. PERIOD.
Do you not think I told him to leave her well alone? He didn't listen to me, gave me the old 'you don't know shit so stay out of it'Uzique wrote:
you know he won't thank you for it... so what's the point involving yourself in other people's drama.
i swear people of a certain disposition are just attracted to drama. they love living out a jeremy kyle episode. let things lie, ffs.
only way things will get any better for your bro is proper time and PROPER moving on. none of this stay-friends shit.
