The cops would have more friends if they weren't letting drunk police chiefs off, fabricating evidence and frequently dropping unarmed civilians in a hail of gunfire. Sort of like politicians; they earn every ounce of hate and actually deserve a lot more than they get.

Lets look at the charge, jaywalking.

A nuisance law designed to circumvent Darwanism and collect money for the city.
In fact 85% of the laws the police enforce are nuisance laws that serve no purpose other than to raise money. They shouldn't even be called police, they should be called revenuers.

Fuck 'em!
Average cost of mugging, 20 to 100 dollars cash. Average cost of ticket + court cost + fines + surcharges = 250-300 dollars. But fuck them poor people they do what I say.

You used to live in Jersey city so you prob have been at that stretch of kennedy blvd between Saint Peters and NJCU that has all of those cones in the middle of the road. If it wasn't for those cones a lot of people would die jay walking. Seriously like 10 at night you will get some black person try to rush across the road and you have trouble seeing them because they are so dark.

I'm serious.

Darwinism in the works. If you can't cross a road safely then you probably shouldn't be alive. You also drive around that area and see tons of people crossing the road with no care to the cars, not even a slight interest in their personal safety, that's why they get hit.

Also that's why I asked if the girl was crossing safely or if she was just being a welfare head endangering people.

@ ATG, we've all seen the plead guilty and we'll give you this, go to court and you can/will receive the maximum punishment. This country is in a sad state of affairs and everyone in it(including Lowing) is a criminal.

I'm struggling to understand why crossing a road is a crime. I mean here you look both ways and if you have time to cross you walk across. What's the deal?

In between Those lines or you risk a 79-200 dollar ticket. Or in Wikianswers

i got a ticket a month ago for jaywalking and it was $174, since im poor and didnt want to pay it i went to court and the judge told me to write a 1 1/2 page essay about why jaywalking is bad and 10 hours of community service, because im a minor, if i werent then i would have to pay.

But you know it's a good idea to give poor people 100 dollar tickets, cause it's the law.

The idea behind disallowing jay-walking is not to keep people from crossing the street, but to prevent pedestrians from walking out into traffic and getting hit or causing accidents and generally interrupting the flow of things.  In busy areas, pedestrians really should use crosswalks for their own safety.  On quiet streets, no one really gives a shit if you cross without a crosswalk.

But the reality of it, is to be able to issue a ticket if you aren't crossing at the right part of the road, regardless of if it's safe or not.

We're raising a bunch of retards in the country.

Sounds ridiculous.

You just cross when it is safe to do so. Not getting hit by cars is a better incentive to be careful than having fines. That makes the fines redundant as a mechanism to stop pedestrians getting hit by cars.

In a perfect world, I agree with you.  I jaywalk all the time following those guidelines, and I have never been given a ticket.  But then...I have been driving and some jackass strolls out into the street and expects the traffic to come to a screeching halt for him.  That's what the tickets are really meant for.

In this case, she may have done just that--walk into traffic, make everyone stop, and generally pose a large road hazard.  That is ticket worthy.  But we don't know since the video didn't start until after.

I'm talking about this:

https://bostonherald.com/blogs/entertainment/the_assistant/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/suburbs.jpg

So I can't cross the street to my neighbor's without walking 200m down the street, then across, then 200m back?
