A mysterious image including Half-Life's signature lambda sigil and the words "Freeman June 14th" has appeared online. The picture looks to be a photo of some kind of binder or poster, and invites speculation regarding the recently (and hilariously) canceled June 14th Portal 2 event.

There's no official confirmation or denial on its way, but Valve does like to play games on the Net from time to time. The company recently pulled out of E3, but June 14th is the same day as the Xbox media briefing...perhaps Dr. Freeman will be making an appearance at Microsoft's shindig?

I just saw this image earlier and had no idea what to think of it. June 14th was the Portal 2 thing right?

Though with all the waiting and expectations, it has a high probability of failing miserably compared to HL2 and EP2...

One thing is for sure though, EP3 is the last time we will play Gordon Freeman (according to valve themselves)

I remember they said Ep3 would be the end of something. I remember it wasn't very clear. I thought they meant it would be the end of hl2, ie the end of the current storyline. The end of freeman's story in the current time period, similar to the way hl2 was set a while after hl. I can't see then removing gordon.

I think it's more likely that it will be Half-Life 3 and not Half-Life 2 Episode 3.

I wish they'd hurry up and release it. I am yet to play any of the half life games, because I'm saving them up for a 2-3 day, non stop half life marathon when the final one comes out.

Valve has seemingly rubbished speculation that its promised E3 'surprise' will be a reveal for Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
According to fan site Halflife2.net, Valve boss Gabe Newell fired off a private message to say simply, "it isn't Ep 3".
