In the spirit of the Winter Olympics going on right now, I think it is appropiate to suggest events for our very own BF2 olympics. Here's a few of my suggestions:
~ Jet Flying Competition
Competent pilots will perform a 5 move show doing their best tricks. Scoring will be based on difficulty level, altitude, speed, and combination of tricks. Flying closer to the ground gets max points. Loops and spins will be judged by how consistend the radius is through out the loop. They will then have to take down a chopper, a plane, and a land target. Fastest times will win max points. Accuracy will be worth 25% of the score. Bombing the carrier or slowing down to take out a chopper are extremelly frowned upon and will be punishable by a ram from a friendly aircraft.
~ BF2 Troop Pentathlon
Similar to the Modern Pentathlon, athletes will have to compete in 5 disciplines to test their overall troop skills. Troops will have to chose a kit at the start of the competition and stick with that throughout.
- We start with a timed flag run. Runners must run or walk the whole time... no jumping over obstacles will be allowed. Neither will crouching under them. Use of such techniques will result in instant execution by the event leader. Preferably with a C4 blast.
- Immediatelly troops will have to engage live targets for their marksmanship competition. Each will be given a full clip and will be scored by how much damage they can inflict. Only primary weapons can be used.
- We then move on to a timed 1 mile swim. It can be done in any style of their chosing. Swimmers straying off course will be promply picked up by Blackhawk and tossed out at 200 ft with no parachute. This is because sharks were unavailable in BF2 waters to perform this job.
- At this point, troops will engage in a fencing competition using their knives. Players will be matched up and the event will play out tournament style. Best out of 3 advances to next round. Knife final will be best out of 5.
- Since no live animals are available for BF2 use, the last part of the competition will be use of various explosive weapons. Each player will show their skill with NoobTubing, C4 whoring, Grenade spamming, and finally AT-rocket pwnage. This is the only part of the competition where use of such techniques will not be frowned upon.
The winner will be the player who scores the highest combined score in all 5 competition.
~ Advanced Technique Usage
Specifically, each troop will be outfitted with maximum armour and a knife (Assault kit for example). They will then face an enemy standing at 10 ft distance, armed with a G36. The troop's job is to graciously and stylishly jump and dive (read: Bunny-hop and Dolphin-dive) his way to the enemy, avoiding all incoming fire, and finally knifing his opponent. The enemy will remain static at all times only able to turn to aim. Maximum points are awarded for the fastest time to kill, least damage sustained, and overall style in their use of the techniques mentioned above.
At any time, if troops are being unruly or not following directions, the B.O.C (Battlefield Olympic Comittee) can call for an artillery strike, a multiple airplane bombing assault, or a helicopter rape, to keep troops in check. Everything else is fairgame. Play on!
