So in what was once one of the most powerfull financal centers of the world, they're planing on building a mosque in place of a damaged store.

What are your feelings on this, I seriously think it's in poor taste what ever the motivation behind it is.

I can understand the frustration and irony in all this, though. What's the acceptable distance a mosque can be built from ground zero then, lol. There must be a line somewhere. Meh.....I'm not a fan of Islamic architecture one bit, that would be my reason of not being happy. I think all the minarets and domes are ugly things.... but whatever.

It's honestly not so much that's it's being built. But it really is in poor taste and the tax exempt status will take away from revenue the city desperately needs.

It's just as stupid building a mosque as a church, a synagogue or any other religious building. Or should i say ironic, since religion is largely to blame for the big hole in the ground in the first place.

Yeah I wrote a letter a few years back. I think I posted it up here as well, asking what was going on.

I think(I'll look for it in a second) they stated that the project is suppose to be done 2012, they're probably waiting for the end of the world to happen.

But they're not, they're looking to see if it's ok. They don't have the funding, I'm also mad that the last time they had a project go it was by a Spanish architect not an American.
