I'd rather the 30 minute method than the lazy dishwasher one and be out of action for 2 days.
Cleaning things by hand seems more rewarding when it's a one off.

You seem to overlook the fact the machine pumps very very very hot water into itself. Hot water tends to distort/destroy things.ebug9 wrote:
Without an electric charge flowing through it, it's just another material getting wet. As long as you let it dry completely, it'll be fine.ROGUEDD wrote:

lol dishwashers have different programs you know? the average default of a dishwasher is 35-65 degrees celcius tbhCheez wrote:

The one at my work is pretty good, but you can't change the temp.FloppY_ wrote:

35 would be safe, 65 and a good bit below is still enough to warp the plastic. I tore apart a G5 to clean it, ended up rinsing a few of the plastic bits, and completely fucked the spring for the sensitivity buttons with the hairdryer I used to dry it. PROTIP: If you wash the keys in a bucket of soapy water, which is easily the best way to do it, throw them all on a towel and wait 10 minutes. If you want them ready a bit faster, point a table fan at them.FloppY_ wrote:

Well glad I could help! The compressed air really helps a lot though. Reduces cleaning time on the main board.Jaekus wrote:
I followed your guide except I didn't have any compressed air nor do I have a sister. I do have a clean keyboard however. So much crap was under the keys
What happens when you try using the 'Y' key?mtb0minime wrote:
Ok I followed your directions and pictures except now my Z key doesn't work. Every time I push it a Y shows up. Why is this happening? I need your help I don't want to buy a new keyboard especially after I just cleaned this one!
That's a normal side effect. But who cares about your house? Now you have a clean keyboard go show your friends!haffeysucks wrote:
i followed your guide and my house burned down. fuck you

I lol'd. Hard. For like a solid 2 minutes.mtb0minime wrote:
Oh goddammit! Now a Z shows up! This is really annoying. It's taking me forever to type out these messages. I used to be over nine hundred words-per-minute but now it's gone to shit with my clean keyboard.
If I put dirt and food back into my keyboard will that fix it???
Ok that's nice and all but you're not helping. It's like I'm typing on DVORAK or some shit what is this I don't even.TheDonkey wrote:
