One of the planes just hit the water whilst practising for the weekend event in Perth, Australia.

The pilot is ok though apparently.

Good thing it didn't spear into a crowd.

Great pilots nonetheless.

Id fucking spear Wendy the news girl, she's a spunk.

Lucky fricking pilot mate, first he smacked his plane into the creek and the rescuers got to him before the Sharks, Water Snakes, Spiders and Cola bears.

Fucks going on with the weather, I thought Strayer was stinking facking hot.

Hope the fella makes a full recovery and gets some new wings

red bull pilots are real men.  they are always some british ex-combat pilots with cockney accents and egos as big as their balls.  thats a career path i definitely would have signed up for in high school.

Yer doesn't look like pilot error, just got hit by some heavy cross wind, he did well to level it out before he hit the water tbh.

JERSEY CITY — Hundreds of spectators began filing into Liberty State Park this morning for the qualifying rounds of the Red Bull Air Race Championship, a multi-city international competition making its first appearance on the East Coast.

A crowd of some 65,000 is expected to watch 15 pilots compete from Liberty State Park; the two qualifying rounds of the race begin today at 2 p.m. Then the field dwindles to 12, then to eight based on the best times. The final four pilots compete for the championship run on Sunday. The event ends around 6 p.m.

The high-speed, small-aircraft race has been presented annually since 2003, but makes its East Coast debut over the Hudson River this weekend. The Red Bull race touts having "speed, precision and skill" wrapped into one sport. Each race course has its own characteristics; some take place over land and others over water.
Anyone going/gone to this?
