The House passes the Senate health care bill, 219-212.

Thirty-four Democrats and all Republicans voted against the legislation.

The House then moved on to consider the reconciliation package.

Doesn't do shit except raise taxes and force everyone to carry insurance. It does not give everyone insurance, you still have to purchase it. Also, I seriously doubt the reconciliation bill will pass, and even if it does, it will never make it through the senate.

back on topic, this bill seriously sucks. The only good thing is it doesn't let insurers deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

Right now it seems like it just forces everyone to have healthcare... which is 'universal' I guess, except now people will go broke paying for insurance instead of the actual health care provided. I also see no signs of tort reform or letting people cross state lines to purchase health insurance.

Call me when we have a REAL bill passed.

Its a sound defeat for the GOP... I hope their BS insurance company paid for narrative tastes like shit in their mouths right now.

Now we will actually be able to compare the GOP narrative of doom and gloom and see if its true or not.... if the law turns out to be successful and beneficial to the country, I guess that would confirm the lies. If it turns out the law is shit, well we'll see that too. But in any respect the attempt to try something to fix the problems won out over idiotic fear mongering.... imo the GOP needs to find a new tactic because the fear mongering tactic was worn out after 9/11 terrorism and the Iraq war... personally when they use fear mongering my alert level goes straight to red.
