Too flashy. To be perfectly honest, I prefer a clean, spartan interface for my software, and steam does just that. I could care less about them getting with the times. Instead, they should focus on streamlining the thing and not try to be as obnoxious as GFWL.

This shit is goddamn annoying. I implore any and all of you who haven't done this yet to not bother with the new interface. Ever since I tried this thing out, a few of my games have stopped working. I had to sit through and download 3 or 4 GB worth of updates, only to find that the game still didn't work and after "verifying" the files, I found out I have to download 5 more GB of shit before I can finally play.
Steam is ok when it works, but when it doesn't (which is waaaaaaaaay too often), it's hell on earth.

I one participated in a beta on steam, crashed it beyond repair, had to reinstall it together witch all my games. Never again.

Regardless of whether you personally like it or not, the fact is that if the PC is going to get more players it needs to be accessible and shiny.
Regardless of whether you want all casual gamers to die in fires around the globe, they make up a good portion of the games industry's income.
Without money there is no games. Its as simple as that. Money comes from the majority who arent hardcore players and who like the shiny.
I am very much against halo, consoles, etc so dont give me that shit

GFWL is shiny, in a visually garish way that's as annoying as a parrot trying to tear your ear off. Interfaces need to be CLEAN. I hope they didn't "spice it up" so much that it's more confusing to use, takes up more memory and crashes more often.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

They definitely need to add a compromise between the huge images and text-only on the games list.

Yeah I wish you could have the old icons back as well. Give us an option to choose between the massive images and the icons.
I think an option for that would be good, but as it is I dont find adding my actually regularly played games to favourites and just filtering. Works pretty good. Windows 7 users also can just right click the steam window on the taskbar to launch recently played games as well.
Looks nice but given the posts on here I'll be avoiding it for a while yet I think. I quite like the Steam style at it is, just not in barf green, black colour scheme ftw.
