When you are "Idolized" (maybe even "liked") you can ask either the hotel lady or the shopkeeper for the key to the room in novac...

I never bothered with using the other homes (except for gathering companions @ 38)

Novac is pretty nice

I'm doin the Mr. House line and he wants me to take out the bunker. I tried killing the leader and fighting my way out, but that didn't work so well. EDIT: It looks so dissapointing in-game.. I thought it looked fucking awesome on the cover too, but ingame it's kinda "meh"

Yeh I was looking forward to wearing that armour the whole game, then I put it on and it looks terrible. Its like a bloaty/floaty trenchcoat over pale jeans and some armour. The bounty hunter duster is much cooler.

With subdermal armour implants and x2 of the DT perk I seem to have enough armour for encounters where it makes a difference anyway (ie. guns/lasers), because even in fully repaired enclave power armour I get shredded by Spoiler (highlight to read):
those rangers at the end when you talk to general oliver and its not like it matters against deathclaws.

Tbh backpedaling + shooting at it = profit...

They will only hit you like 1/4 of the time... (finesse perk is a must though, it's like getting a +25% crit chance)
