Btw, just for the lawlz I'll mention that the two towns are separated by a set of train tracks. There really is such a thing as being 'from the wrong side of the tracks'

I wonder what the 2010 is going to bring up.. The rich part will probably drop in population and income drasticly, and the poor will probably stay the sameish..

My conclusion would be that Hempstead is a poor shithole.

Those two towns haven't changed in forty years. I doubt ten years worth of census data is going to change anything

I think we should tax Garden City to help bring up the standard of living for Hempstead.  It is obvious that the people of Hempstead are disadvantaged due to their location and job market.

Doesn't apply here.  This is an obvious example of an underpriveldged population being taken advantage of by the evil Garden City population.

Hempstead truly is a shithole. I'd know, I've been to probably over 200 Islander games. Even that area (around the Coliseum) is a total shithole. And yet, the owner of the Islanders and his group wanted to upgrade it and give the town a renaissance with The Lighthouse at Long Island but the fat pig in charge is too busy playing petty politics.

Of course, Garden City residents are being assholes about it too ironically.

The average income for one city is more than three times that of the other one.

Look at any poor city compared to a rich city and you'll find the poor city is worse off.
