Just started that one as well. 7,5/10 for the album as a whole, of course some of the individual tracks go well above that.

Caravan Palace is worth me not suggesting a rap album.

Slightly more on-topic:
Boards of Canada was pretty...relaxed. 8/10 I'd say.
Still have to catch up with the rest.

i dont find boards of canada repetitive, but then again it's all about how much and how widely you listen to such a genre...

saying any kind of ambient/downtempo is 'repetitive' is just like saying all house music is repetitive because of similar qualities. if you listen enough and learn enough about the subtleties of the genre then you will recognize that small details make huge differences. the campfire headphase and music has the right to children are two absolutely seminal albums of the ambient/idm genres. completely defines a certain era of electronic music for me. almost as close to a 10/10 as any album can get, in my opinion. boards of canada manage to keep a consistent sound and identity across a vast number of albums/releases/bootlegs- but each song in its own right is very memorable and iconic. that's a big achievement. not many artists can create so many instantly-recognizable songs whilst keeping the same overall 'sound'. no one else quite sounds like boards of canada, and many imitators and new artists have tried to reproduce it without ever quite getting the atmosphere and brilliance of the originals. listen to artists like tycho, christ. and casino versus japan for other (really good) examples of electronica, but examples that never quite recapture the essence of BoC.

Boards of Canada: The Campfire Headphase - 7.5/10

Great ambient background music, probably wouldnt listen to it if I was only listening to music.  It would be great if I was doing homework or reading with that in the background though.

The Black Dog: Radio Scarecrow - 8/10

Similar to BoC, good ambient background music to me.  If I wanted to just listen to music for a while it wouldnt be my first choice.  Has a few interesting sounds in some songs though.

The Legion of Doom: Incorporated - 3/10

Not something I would listen to.

Clark: Totems Flare - 6/10

Some really cool sounds, but kinda hard to listen to.  I feel like I need to work to listen to this which isnt really what I like.

- Really like this album (though I do prefer Music Has The Right To Children) - 9/10

4.Smuder201- The Black Dog: Radio Scarecrow (hit the load addition content button)  Grooveshark

- Haven't heard this before. Will definitely add it to my library - 7/10

5.Sheffa - The Legion of Doom: Incorporated Grooveshark

- Not my cup of tea at all ... - 2/10

6.DU - Clark: Totems Flare Grooveshark

- Good stuff. Still can't get my head round some of the seemlingly random sounds, but yeah - 7/10

7.Serevent  - Every time I die: The Big Dirty (click load additional content) Grooveshark

- Had a listen to a few tracks. I don't really think I'm a fan of this genre of music at all but guess it was OK - 5/10

8.Metal-Eater-GR- Foals: Antidotes Grooveshark

- Woah, haven't listen to this in a while. Fun album, though some songs are a bit repetitive. Saw them live, they were pretty good - 7/10

Thanks again Uzique for the excellent suggestions in listening.

There were times I wanted Harmony in Ultraviolet to "break" a la Dayvan Cowboy, but I still really enjoyed it.

with enough listens, you recognize the 'breaks' in the ambience anyway. some songs become the crescendos, some the quiet interludes.
