drinking alcohol makes exercise pretty redundant, anyway. not just for calories, but for the way it affects your metabolism and muscle growth

afaik alcohol prevents you from getting any value out of vitamins and nutrition

works the same as any other drugs... your body goes into a recovery mode before it goes into a 'build moar' mode

You can drink alcohol twice a week (Friday, Saturday) but don't get to the point of getting drunk. It only really gets in the way when you get drunk and consume too much - it's more the calories that affect your stomach - because the liver has to work twice as much to get rid of the toxins.

It really isn't a TERRIBLE thing to do, but just do it in moderation.

I'm not getting drunk 5 nights a week (not anymore anyway, that was a few years ago lol -- active social life in a place that doesn't have much other than drinking to do with any regularity). Might have a few at home on Friday and maybe have a bigger night Saturday, sometimes just stay home all weekend and have a few with my flatmates. During the week some nights I'll have a glass or two of wine, or a beer after a long day to unwind. But by the sounds of things even this is too much.

dunno where you heard twice-a-week from but if my research into metabolism is anything to go by... drinking more than a few units per week = may as well cancel all of your work-out for that week. fat-soluble vitamins won't be of any advantage at all, and your liver does not fully metabolize and get rid of the toxins in a week-long cycle. 1 pint on friday and saturday is about as much as i'd say you can take without putting your body backwards, rather than forwards. and lets not even talk about anything more than alcohol . . .

by the way the relative 'safety' of wine is bullshit. there's some tenuous, 'may be so' research between trends in wine consumption and heart disease. it's still poisoning your system, intoxicating your liver and arresting your metabolic rates. have a 'hearty' glass of wine every night if you want... you won't have a heart attack, sure. but people in a good state of physical fitness (i.e. low body-fat and good cardio) won't have heart issues, anyway .

Its a general rule of thumb in the BB community that alcohol and training= no way jack.

I know a MILLION guys who are gym regulars but see NO results because they drink beer on a daily basis. Its no secret that if you really want results you need to sacrifice the booze.

You gotta start a proper regime to shave off belly fat - it's the hardest area to shave fat off from.

You'll need to eat healthily, stop drinking, run twice a week (or any other version of cardio) and do weight training 3x a week.

I suggest squats, bench press, dips, chin ups, pulls ups, press ups, deadlifts and a good ab workout (reverse crunches are the best, but if you set yourself an 8 minute ab workout with the bicycle exercise, forward crunches, side crunches, leg raises etc then you'll be doing well).

For men, the hardest place to remove fat from is the abs area, and you cannot keep drinking or eating junk food if you want to remove it. No carbs for dinner, high protein diet, lots of fruit, lots of veg. Be consistent.

Cardio will speed up the process.

If you follow a regime, then you should see improvements within the first 4 weeks, but don't expect to shave it off in 2 months. No way.

Shut the fuck up. Seriously. You're getting on my nerves. Abdomen fat is what is called "stubborn" fat. It IS the hardest to get rid of.

Please, come back when you have something useful to say.

Unfortunately, for most of us, the first place we deposit fat is in the abdominal area. This is particularly so for men. Women tend to have first deposits in thighs and hip area also. This distribution of body fat then translates to mean that abdominal fat is usually the last body fat to be lost.
Please, shut the fuck up. I repeat it for emphasis.

learn to read.  my point didn't disagree with any of those articles

if you start eating big macs everyday and your body decides to put fat in your thighs, then your stomach, then your arms

when you start burning fat, you'll burn it from your arms, then your stomach, then your thighs

hence the term stubborn fat, it won't go away until you burn all the other fat

idiot

What. the. fuck.

Learn to read my posts, I never mentioned anything about burning the fat in any other areas - all I said was that the hardest place to get rid of your fat is the abs area, which is correct - I already know that it is a process of getting all the fat off your body, you can't do spot fat reduction. All I gave him was a simple regime to follow to, nothing to do with where he's losing the fat or anything.

I read your post, and the quote is
"it's not like the fat on your stomach is the hardest to get rid of"

But it is.

but it isnt.  it depends where your body deposited its fat first

ex. i know a kid from track and his thighs are fucking huge yet he has a six pack  (and no his thighs arent pure muscle)

But the first place you usually deposit fat is the abdomen, which is why it's so hard to get rid of. That kid is just an exception, most people put the fat on the belly first and the rest elsewhere, which is why when it comes to removing that fat, it's the hardest to get rid of.

Well it's pretty obvious that most of the fat on my body is on my gut. I wouldn't call myself overweight, but I'm certainly not as lean as I was before I started driving and walked 10-15 km every day. I'll be 30 next year so I think it's high time I did something about it before my metabolism slows down too much.

i remember when haibai was a nice lad.  This place rots even the most innocent.

Anyway to help the young lad out, when i was reducing my body fat i lost it from my legs and arms first.  All of a sudden my watch became loose on my wrist.
