So I'm trying to burn fat right now. Should I do lower intensity cardio or higher intensity cardio? Today I did those 45 minutes on the elliptical and I had my heart rate around 160BPM, and the machine said I burned 450 calories (I hear they're not that accurate but whatever). Some people are telling me that low intensity is better, and others say high intensity is king.

Thoughts?
you don't need to exercise at all to burn fat.  just make sure you eat right and your weight will take care of itself

I know, but it's still healthy to exercise. Much better to work out for 45 minutes each day than sit on my ass all day.

Not to mention I believe the body actually burns fat at a higher rate when the heart is beating faster.

so why not just try to build muscle with those 45 minutes?

That's a good question

Well I hear that it's not very easy to both build muscle AND burn fat. Maybe I heard wrong though. But I'd rather trim down my excess fat instead of getting even bulkier than I am now (albeit I'd also be stronger!).

its harder, but its still possible though, and you will accomplish both as long as you work at it.

Hurri, you aren't going to lose any weight unless you stop pounding Natty on the weekends.

Here's a bit about HIIT, there's articles all over the net, but anyway... http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/justin6.htm

Another article to kinda balance out the whole HIIT thing. It's not really saying don't do, it's just saying think about why and how you are doing it - http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/why-you … train.html

Anyway, I need halp

When I'm working out my arms, my weak points are always my wrists/forearms. When I'm doing db curls for example, everything is ok in the bicep/upper arm region. Nothing abnormal.

When I put the weights down, I get a short, sharp pain in the wrist/forearm area. Does anyone else get that. As soon as you put the weights down. Is there something wrong with my technique/the way I'm putting the weights down, or do I just have weak as shit wrists/forearms. I even use that powerball thing!

Get wrist support:

Focus on Strengthening them and your forearms.

i have a NYSC membership that was $79 a month...i still have it, it's just suspended while i'm at college and i use the gym in my dorm

it's worth it though, best gym i've been to... better than world gym, bally's and planet fitness

Good god!  Due to my traveling circumstances, I need to carry two gym memberships...and it's still only a combined total of $33/month.

What could they possibly offer you that justifies a $79/month cost?  oy!  Seriously though, what 'amenities' does that provide?

it's a "passport" membership... which means I can use both the NYC locations (I use the Wall Street location which is packed with guys in suits coming in all the time lol) and my Long Island location. I'm cancelling it after the summer to sign up with somewhere that's both on Long Island and where ever I transfer to.

they have a steam room, a pool at a lot of locations, pretty much every free weight and machine you can think of, a huge variety of cardio machines... and towel service.

but as I said, it's suspended.. the costs became too much

kneel down in front of bench and rest your forearms across the bench - using curl bar - sets of curl with only your wrist -
