It was the disrespect to the uniform that I found appalling. Sarcasm or no, that was messed up.
Wait, I don't get it, what's so disrespecting. I'd say going on a rampage killing innocents is more disrespecting to the uniform than... well whatever he's doing, you guys seem really outraged and well. I have to agree with that guy who went on a "lawl" rampage a few posts up.
The uniform is to be worn to a certain standard. That standard most certainly does not include a scruffy-assed goatee and hair down about the ears...particularly the Marine uniform. Even for non-Marine US servicemembers, that's pretty much sacrosanct.
Oh so you guys were pissed around the uniform eh?

Well he is Rudy Reyes, former first battalion first force recon marines, he was a consultant for generation kill and he played himself in the series.

Oh wow... talk about overreaction. As disciplined service members you'd think people would know better rather than to get all huffy over stupid shit. Yeah the guy maybe a cock for doing that, but there's worse shit out there. I was just alarmed by the reaction some of you guys gave, certainly seemed quite over the top.

Yeah. As such, he should know better and should have more respect for the uniform, ffs. I bet his fellow Force Recon brothers are pretty happy with him right now, too.

It's not an "over the top reaction". All he needed to do is shave his goatee, ffs. And he couldn't be bothered. But why would I expect a couple of people who've never put on a uniform to understand?

I can understand the reaction towards the guy, but that doesn't mean I think it makes sense or that it's needed. There's worse things to worry about and get so angry about then that!

for you perhaps, I mean since you are not in that situation, but for others showering with a gay man just might be the concern of the moment when you are in th shower with a gay man.

If it's a problem for a guy to be in the same room full of showers with a gay man happening to shower at the same time, then that guy has personal issues. The stereotypical false belief that every gay man is a buttpirate that can't wait to anally rape heterosexual men should be abolished. That's the problem.

I have no problem being in a so called public shower I.e. that of a E.g. swimming hall and shower, knowing that statistically someone in there at the same time is a gay person. Big fucking deal.

Hmm I see your point, however I assumed SOCOM units to have a lot less restriction, such as the Aussie SAS don't have any uniform regulation at all, and they are allowed long hair and beards. But actually, Rudy is one of the most respected fire team leaders in his company, despite his questionable grooming and sexual orientation.

Lets see, I wouldn't mind taking a shower full of beautiful women either, and I am not a rapist. but I am quite sure those women would not want me there.

I guess they are all just fucked up and stereotyping me huh. THEY are the ones with the problem huh

1. Scratch the "beautiful" part. Or do you think all military men are hot hunks with chiseled abs?
2. What about a lesbian woman in a shower with women?
3. To make your post fit in more with the discussion, change all women to lesbians and you be the straight guy in the same shower room with them.

2. I dunno ask them, if they had a problem with it, which I bet they would, I would not blame them
3. are you seriously telling me that a shower full of lesbians should have no problem with me showering with them? Hate to break it to you, but you lost.

Lol. Seems you're a complete homophobe.

I don't give a flying fuck if a gay dude is checking out my dong in the shower. If he tried to hit on me, I'd tell him I'm straight. End of story. Then I'd continue washing my nutsack.

Lost what? The "Being afraid of gay people" award nomination?

Also, think about this. Next time you are at a bar and go to take a leak in the urinal, the odds are ~1:10 that the guy taking a leak next to you is gay. Since it's highly probable that you have taken a piss at a urinal before, odds are that you have emptied your bladder with your cock out in the open next to a gay guy taking a leak. Does this make you feel dirty? Does it make you want to wash yourself clean with Crying Game playing in the background? No.

When you say 4 years, you mean 4 years fixing helicopters or 4 years running around the streets of Baghdad?

I served 4 years in the military, no not a play on words, no not dodging the question, no not being eleusive. I served 4 years active duty military

But 4 years of active duty inside a compound, yes? I'm not trying to undermine you, you just seem to be trying to avoid my original question.

Not his fault where command puts him. 4 years active duty is still serving in the military.
