What exactly has he done to deserve the award? He hasn't stopped a war or brokered peace talks or anything that would make him even a remote candidate.

That being said defiantly Obama.

Seriously though, it would either go to someone nobody ever hear of or some reformed dictator.

Obama.

Even Jesus idolized him.

True story.

Sounds like no one interesting has done anything this year. Obama won't win it, and what's Sarkozy done?

Perhaps it should go to the creators of TARP for dispelling all the market-induced panic among the world.

Seriously, probably this guy:

not really.  He's only been POTUS for what 6 months and the only thing he's done is moan at Iran about nuclear weapons.  How on earth does that constitute peace building?

There were many others who were more deserving.

The French should always win the Nobel peace prize. They've never done anything violent, and they always negotiate and surrender.

Except to pirates, but that's another story.

This is what a Swedish newspaper indicated as the reasons for Obama winning. So basically what the members of the Committee say is that Obama "has sparked a hope for the future due to his efforts for a better climate of cooperation in the world and his outspoken wish to realise a world free of nuclear weapons".

Personally I think this is way too soon to be handing him a Noble Peace Prize.

Hmm, an obvious choice, but the right one?

I don't think that a campaign alone is enough to win a peace prize in context. After all, the real business is yet-to-come for the most part.
