Why would you want a fan on your keyboard? My fingers get cold enough as it is typing without oneIrishGrimReaper wrote:

I read a quote somewhere that said, "Friends don't let friends buy Thermaltake."
I have a Thermaltake drive dock and it works perfectly fineNic wrote:

fuck! i can't hook up three monitors, because my display port out is using a passive connector. . .
Saw this laptop at Sam's Club for $629 but it says it seems to have only a Pentium Dual Core T4400, though elsewhere it has T6600. (idk if link will work outside US, Samsung R530)
It and the 14" variety, which I think looks better, are available on Newegg for $650 with T6600.
R430
R530
Does this look like it would be good for schoolwork and web browsing? I like the color of the 14"(black) rather than the 15.6"(red). They are the same res. for either, and I doubt I really need a numpad that much. Either would cost me ~$720 from Newegg including shipping and tax, can only get 15.6" from Sam's Club ~$680(lower processor, T4400), due to no shipping costs.

you always seem to hear about it AFTER THE FACT - well so did i. it does 'see' the monitor, and if i disable one of the DVI outs, it would enable it.Finray wrote:

Figured with your extensive knowledge you would have checked this out beforehand

Fuck sake.
For weeks now there's been a noise coming from inside my case(I originally taught it was my case, after modding it). Turns out it's my Noctua CPU cooler, somehow the heatsink is rubbing off the brackets under it I think. Gonna have to reseat it later on -.-
And my G11 randomly stops working every now and then too, the media controls eg volume and pause/play will work; but the keypad wont..
Fail.

Need a little help with a graphics card upgrade.
I currently have an 8500 and my buddy gave me his old 8800gt, I install it and as soon as I turn on the power, it just SQUEALS like a little bitch Any clue why it would be doing that?
Comp specs in case it helps:
Vista 32 bit
3GB ram
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
GeForce 8500GT 512MB

That'd most likely be that you're forgetting to hook up the 6-pin connector to the card.SplinterStrike wrote:

There's a two pin connector I put in, but the pins were a bit loose. You mean the one that's on the outer edge of the card like this?mikkel wrote:

That 2-pin connector is probably a fan connector. If you don't know what you plugged into it, I would pull it back out. The 6-pin connector should be a block at the end of the card.SplinterStrike wrote:

You just forgot to plug in the power cable to the card, I did that once after I dusted out my case. Like mikkel said plug it in to the 6-pin power connector and you will be good to go.SplinterStrike wrote:
