did she buy the amd one?CapnNismo wrote:
A friend of mine just called me and she's buying a laptop. I already picked one out for her and told her to buy it but she was at the store and the salesman tried to tell her that an HP with an AMD A8 quad core (1.8GHz) was going to be faster than an Intel i5-2430M (2 cores, 4 threads), despite the fact that the Intel has a higher clock frequency and a higher benchmark... I hate salesmen...
real mature... considering the fact that she's 22 and still a virgin, though, I doubt that'd happen, anyway.eusgen wrote:

dear god they couldn't make it any more obvious they're trying to emulate OSX
Really? They were emulating OSX before OSX even existed? /facepalm But honestly, if you guys think any of the OS's are 100% original, you need to wake the fuck up.Dilbert_X wrote:

Probably because it looks like the new way that OSX Lion shows you your programs (as it does in iOS, Android, Symbian, Blackberry OS, MeeGo, Windows Phone 7, etc... as you can see, not terribly ORIGINAL from Apple, either).Winston_Churchill wrote:
how exactly does the whole tile thing look remotely like osx? thats probably one of the most unique things in years.
not that i think its all that great, but its definitely unique
Obviously I'm talking about that and you're only reinforcing my point. The whole idea of having a grid of tiles or icons to launch applications or present a widget has been around for almost as long as cell phones have existed, so I fail to see why Poseidon thinks W8 "looks like OSX".
Agreed.Winston_Churchill wrote:
the grid of icons has been around forever, but the tiles that are differently shaped and stuff (ie WP7) are definitely something ive never seen before
