GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Core Gets Detailed, launches Nov 29
...

Compared to its older brother, the GTX 560 Ti (448 Core) will come with one of the 15 streaming modules disabled, to provide a total of 448 CUDA cores.

The rest of the core includes 56 texture units, 40 ROP units and a 320-bit memory bus connected to 1.25GB of video buffer, just as is the case with the GeForce GTX 570.

The card's operating frequencies will also mimic those of its older brother as the GPU will work at 732MHz, while the GDDR5 video buffer is clocked at 950MHz (3.80GHz effective). Together with the increased performance offered by the new graphics core, the power consumption of the card has also grown since the GTX 560 Ti 448 uses the same 0.950V to 1.100V voltage range as the GTX 570.

Other features of the GTX 560 Ti (448 Core) include support for 3-way SLI, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs. This is not the first time that Nvidia has decided to increase the shader count on one of its graphics cards as the company has also done the same with the GTX 260, which soon after its introduction received a 216 Core version.

The GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores will be officially launched on November 29 from what we heard, and its recommended price is expected to be on par with that of the original GTX 560 Ti.

So...

I installed the new RAM. No problem. Well, a little bit of a problem. Had to remove my video card, install my RAM, then reinstall my video card. It was blocking the retaining clips from moving.

Anyway...system booted just fine. Checked that it was reading 8GB of RAM. No problem. Started BF3. Map loaded quite a bit faster, as desired. Awesome. Spawned in...and character was uncontrollable. WTF?

Hit ESC. Mouse was all over the screen. Hit ALT+TAB. Mouse is back under control. Shit only goes wonky in game. Tried a different server. Same problem.

Any ideas?

What do you mean?

I have the MS drivers installed. I use a MS Sidewinder mouse.

E: nvm. Mucked with the mouse settings in game and got it straightened out. Makes no sense why they would have changed all of a sudden...

yea the 580 gets 68 or so on high settings.  I average around 70fps on my setup on all high.

What I noticed was the difference in performance hit you take between the two when you go from HIGH to ULTRA settings. It seems to be more marked in the Radeon than in the GeForce.

I honestly can't see the difference too much between the two settings...

.. then again. All the tests where radeon dominates, the MSAA is disabled. Enable it, and see radeons 'collapse'.

Yeah I just use post AA rather than MSAA, takes way too much of a toll on performance to be worth it.

Radeon: High - 61.44
             Ultra - 39.99
                       -------
                       21.45

GeForce: High - 68.96
              Ultra - 55.50
                        ------
                        13.46

Granted, it's only 8 fps, but it still seems significant to me...

Not sure why people are comparing the HD6950 and the GTX580. The GTX580 is twice the price of the 6950. The 6970 (which is still ~$150 cheaper than the 580) performs better at all 3 resolutions at high quality. (Although admittedly the 6970 falls back behind the 580 on ultra settings).

That was what I was happy about since I own a HD6970, and play at high settings.
