I quite like slide phones, very satisfying to hang up a call by slamming the phone down on your hand like they do in the MOVIES
My BB is a slider and its fantastic. Allows you to have a physical keyboard while keeping a large screen and small form factor. It makes sense.
I used to have a LG Chocolate slider too, it was a POS so whenever I was bored I would open it by flicking my wrist and only holding the back, making the top slide open. It was

My brother in law has that one. It's thick, but not ridiculously thick.
Personally, I don't like physical keyboards anymore. If you type onscreen for a week you get really comfortable with it. I can type a hell of a lot faster onscreen .. it has a lot to do with predictive text, and how close it is to your fingers.

i've got a BB Storm that i couldn't get used to. i'm liking droid marketplace so much better anyways, i'm not unhappy with the switch.
The storm is/was notoriously problematic with the screen and responsiveness.
I actually had an old htc phone back when I was running on windows mobile. It was also touchscreen and was absolutely horrible. I ended up virtually giving it away. I think it was way underpowered. That was about 2006 and shit has come a long way since then.

yeah the storm really shouldnt have been made. thankfully theyve learned from their mistake.
ive had an iphone, samsung instinct (touchscreens) and now the torch and can say without doubt that i like the physical keyboard much, much more. way better accuracy and speed, plus the ability to feel the keys and therefore type without looking. predictive text is on every smartphone... and keys arent far apart at all on physical ones... not really sure what you meant by that.
