The multiplier has nothing to do with how high your FSB clock will go. And even so, those oldish AMD processors are horrid clockers. When they don't hit a brick wall in frequency, they over-heat. I love how AMD have completely misunderstood how thermal throttling works.alexb wrote:

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I read that having a higher FSB is more important that having a higher CPU Multi, so I dropped it from 9.5 to 8.5 and upped the FSB to 400; I also read that achieving a 1:1 FSB to RAM ratio is best, so I set the RAM Divider to 2.

OK I need a new GPU & a new case for the old PC my current specs are E8400, P5Q , 4gb ram, asus 4850. I would like a case with effective cooling as the case is placed under my desk in corner as far away as possible from my 2 kids & their inquiring little minds.
I am looking around £100 for a case & £200ish for a GPU. I could go a little higher but not by much.
