Your argument fails.

With your fantastic system of Republicanism you guys carried out a virtual genocide.
Even the British never tried anything like that.
No? The genocide of which you speak began under British rule.

Cool, now I can go down to your country, have legs spread for my American accent, and then discuss politics with the locals. Neat.
Unable to challenge my response given your highly evident lack of knowledge of the world outside the USA has been proved.  I specifically engaged with you given a typical wah wah liburls, stop taking about the US post a page back or so.

FYI Brits don't tend to go for americans (for whatever reason) our slutbags go mental for the Aus, prob something about the accents.  But you would know about that either.
So I assume you've been to America and spent enough time here for your vitriol to fit? I have left my borders, thank you. I've been to Canada, Mexico, The Netherlands, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq. Do I wish to see more of the world? You bet. Will I ever lament the fact that we no longer have an umbilical cord attached to GB? No. I've met the products of your public schools and they... leave much to be desired. Same can be said for most of the people who graduate from public schools in this country.

You, who wear the Soviet flag as your avatar, a nation that killed millions of it's own people because they were 'undesirable', are a joke. You need to pick new heroes instead of flying the flag of Lenin and Stalin. Or better yet, read the works of your own esteemed author, George Orwell.
Nope not been to America and nor do i care where you've been.  The pertinant point is knowledge outside your own borders, of which it is evident you lack see: Aus.  But, why have to digressed to public school boys?!

The commie flag is a running joke within this community, i tend to play a extreme lefty, hell bent on socialism.  Most of the time i only do it to annoy the right winig americans.  And just for the record i am not a russian, and i don't need to pick heros.

Just as many pictures of toothless welfareites waving poorly spelled placards and yelling about things they don't understand.

What sets people here off is your constant emphasis on Republicans while completely ignoring the same knuckleheadedness in the Dems and every other political party here and abroad. Pete Stark is a dick, but so is that old guy.

I suppose it's easy for the elderly to bash the idea of socialized medicine when they already have their own program specifically for their demographic.  The GOP recently came up with a clever idea of bringing up a bill to "protect Medicare funds" even though this is a form of the socialized medicine they claim to despise.

So basically, for the old people that are against universal care, I'd like to see if any of them would be in favor of ending Medicare.  If not, they're hypocrites who only fight against programs that don't help them specifically.

But then again, blind selfishness is a common trait in this country.  We like to call it individualism oftentimes, but that's little more than an euphemism.

- Pretty sure I've said they're all crap, corrupt, dishonest, in the pockets of pressure groups, enacting fruity political agendas.

The thing is, Republicans pump themselves up so much with their 'we are Jefferson's stormtroopers' thing its just that much more fun when you stick a pin in.

That and the Republicans do seem to have a power-base of pick-up driving hogs and bible-thumping crazies

Frankly what America needs is a third party which can be a bit more sensible, and not just follow cranky doctrines because thats what their Daddy did.
The problem is the system effectively blocks out 3rd, 4th 5th parties.
Or maybe the electorate is too poorly educated or too lazy to use their vote properly. Maybe they get what they deserve.

And vice versa. There are plenty of uneducated redneck Democrats. They are called Southern Democrats.

It's not the system that effectively blocks those parties...it is their ideology. The UK is really no different. Two major parties, a handful of bit players. The majority of the population associates themselves with one or the other major party, as their platforms cover the majority of the issues--on either side of the issue (for/against)--that matter to the majority of the population.

This is the kind of bullshit statement that sets me off. The powerbase of the Republican Party is so far from that that it's not even laughable. The problem is that the only ones who get any press are the fringe elements, so those who don't live here and whose sole source of information is the press that selectively portrays one side or the other think that is the norm. It's infuriatingly frustrating.

Not so much, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th parties do often control the balance of power, and sometimes 1st or 2nd swap places with 3rd.
In the US 3rd has never been worth more than a sneeze.
It's not the system that effectively blocks those parties...it is their ideology.
In 200 odd years you've effectively had two parties. It IS the system.

Doesn't really set me off, just kinda make me feel for the guy. Not in that way -you homos.  He's bought into the stereotypes.  I've got several other side of the aisle friends, from all walks of life.  For example, some of the richest people I know are Democrats -I'm talking MEGA RICH too (like I just sued the tobacco industry and won or ever heard of Yahoo!?)  I get along with the moderates.  It the close minded extremists that set me off.

However, I don't think that the left panders to the aforementioned interests.  It wouldn't make any sense for those individuals to gravitate to the democrats.  Kinda sad too, for those f'ers scare me.

The extremists don't even bother me because the conversations generally tend to be all the same and you can usually pound them with logic until they get mad or go away. The people that bother me the most are the people who have no idea what they are talking about. It's like playing the telephone game and they're the last person in the chain. A whole mishmash of stuff comes out of their mouth and none of it makes any sense whatsoever but they believe it does. These are the people that haven't used their own brain and just regurgitate crap without understanding it's meaning. College students who have newly discovered politics fall into this category. They are inevitably far to the left because they read a book or two and their professor told them it was good stuff. Nevermind that they have no foundation to understand what they read. It was a book they read in college so they believe it to be the Truth.

Same goes for anyone who pretends to be an expert on things they don't understand. It doesn't matter if you're a Repub, Dem or Independent if you try to talk economics with me about something you heard on TV you're going to get blasted. I don't tolerate stupidity and I sure as hell don't tolerate ignorance.

I quickly learned in college to give the Professor what he/she wanted (.ie regurgated the leftist propanga) -to get what I wanted (ultimatley a degree).  I had to sit back and bite my tongue more that few times.  My sex and war class I remember pretty well... Those fuckers pissed me off to no end.  There was some of the most hateful, ignorant, intolerant ideals being held as up the gold standard.  And it really didn't even have anything to do with the course subject.  Those two assholes really shouldn't be teaching.  But then again my school brought Bill Ayres in to speak and actually paid him 4k for his poison.  No more booster money from this Alumni.

It does go both ways.  There is a certain level of indoctronation to specific elements of the Republicans.  I remember going to a party and one somewhat pretty girl said quite flatly and daring debate that and I do quote -"The Earth is no older that 2000 years old".  I really did a facepalm as I left the room laughing.  She wasn't worth it...

Indeed I do. I happen to read quite a lot and on a lot of different subjects. I don't accept what is written in a single book as dogma. I've come to my own conclusions about life and the way it does or should work. Hell, I was a full blown communist when I was in high school so I've seen both sides of the ball.

I was an International Transportation and Trade major for three years before I decided to switch to a major that is less broad. I've also devoured book after book from Friedman, Bernanke, Keynes, and I even read Adam Smith's "Wealth of Nations".
