Well it derives from the Jew practice of fasting on Yom Kippur, according to Wiki, so that post is a stroke of genius from usmarine, disguised as lulz. It happens more often than you think on bf2sRed Forman wrote:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RamadanThe name "Ramaḍāma" had been the name of the ninth month in the Arab world long before the arrival of Islam; the word itself derived from an Arabic root rmḍ, as in words like "ramiḍa" or "ar-ramaḍ" denoting intense heat[2], scorched ground and shortness of rations. In the Qu'ran, God proclaims that "fasting has been written down (as obligatory) upon you, as it was upon those before you". According to the earliest hadith, this refers to the Jewish practice of fasting on Yom Kippur.[3][4]

Get back with us when you use the teachings of CHRIST to show how violent CHRISTians are. Christ's teachings and actions are not in line with the violent acts committed in his name. Unfortunately, Mohammed's teachings and actions are very much in line with those acts committed in the name of Islam. Now you know the difference.

Mathew 15:1-410:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. (10:34-36)
I came not to send peace, but a sword. ... A man's foes shall be they of his own household."
Is Jesus peaceful?
One of Ann Coulter's favorite Bible verses
Holy War and the Holy Father: the Bible vs the Quran
On Peace
10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
You may also notice in the above referenced Mathew that Jesus does in fact ask why the Pharaohs weren't killing their children according to God's rules; these were outlined in the OT in Leviticus. These are just a couple of examples. There are also parts of the NT where Jesus says he agrees with God's OT laws. The amount of shere violence portrayed throughout the Old and New Testaments is massive.15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
