Yes, but to me both were very shallow. RPG elemts is almost too much to call the gimmick feature of having one ability per character. The weapons were great fun, but despite finding lots of em, most of them were junk or too weak for you current stage. I had my share of fun nonetheless, but I´m skeptical towards the worth of a purchase of Rage from what I´ve seen so far.FloppY_ wrote:
Well, borderlands was all about the weapons and Diablo2 like RPG elements...
I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this so I can explore the modding potential. id always makes well polished engines, except the Quake 2 engine. What were they thinking?

Named Best of Show at E3 2010.
I was convinced it was going to be Portal 2.

Valve are too secretive and quiet about their future games for them to win that with portal 2Poseidon wrote:

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Yeah, but even less media for Rage was shown for Portal 2.
GT isn't exactly biased or anything and their reviews are typically spot-on. This has become my #1 must buy, followed by AC: Brotherhood and Portal 2.

Well from what I've seen RAGE is much more informative in Q&A where Portal2 (valve) won't really tell anything...Poseidon wrote:

EDIT: And concidering RAGE beeing something completely new rather than a sequal (I know Portal 1 was more of a demo/test but leave that for now), therefore we know exactly what to expect from a gameplay standpoint for portal, whereas, again, rage is new

It seems to take the best from a lot of games with potential, and that makes it look interesting to me, but it's anything but new.
New IP =/= Revolutionary concept.Miggle wrote:

Perhaps in terms of setting, but it isn't going to be an RPG.El Beardo wrote:

Well, if we're going to argue that, I say that Quake 2 was tons better for mods than the limitations of Quake 1/Doom.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

To be fair, Borderlands wasn´t an RPG eitherOmniDeath wrote:

Well, it had more RPG elements than Rage will. But Borderlands even promoted itself as an RPG FPS hybrid.Sisco wrote:

Borderlands was really a FPS with RPG elements. There were a lot of weapon types, but 99.9% of them weren't really distinguishable or worth holding onto. The campaign was quicker than a bout of Diablo II. So...
Id released some new screen shots of Rage. Some are a resolution of 25,600×16,000.

If you want to spend 325 mb of space on that Rage screenshot, do it. It's INCREDIBLE.

I hope this isn't just going to be another tech demo.
