'Sunday Seance' is by Blockhead, my iTunes tells me that much... similar vein erm:
RJD2
Cut Chemist
Kid Koala
All that cut-up, turntable instrumental hip-hop stuff - start at DJ Shadow and work through the 'Relateds' using whatever music service you use nowadays. Oh and, if you saw Blockhead on your Last.fm home-page, that's because the Last.fm doohickies put it there, aha! Home pages are completely customized according to the listening habits and recommendations of each individual user - basically a database fetch.

I've no idea, Uzi suggested him to me, and i saw that he'd done some work with Aesop Rock, good stuff, I like that Cavelight album, forgot the exact name.Kmarion wrote:

I really love Onra but it strays a bit more into the glitchy and dance-up sorta stuff - the FlyLo school, as I like to think of it. Kmar is more into the chilled out beats with the ambient and funky-jazzy roots, from what I can gather. The Onra 'Chinoiseries' album is a fucking amazing work of instrumental hip-hop -- but you'd have to have a taste for the genre rather than a taste for a certain 'flavour', which I think is more the sorta bender that Kmar is on.
And yes, the old-school Blockhead/Aesop Rock stuff is sublime. Some of my favourite hip-hop, ever. Post the mandatory Youtube link to DAYLIGHT please!

Goons you're so slowww...
Amazingly classic piece of underground/abstract hip-hop, in my opinion. Blockhead did the beat, Kmar. You can find it minus the rapping around... somewhere.

Do we listen to any Air?
Ooooh hells yes Kmar, one of THE 'canonical' instrumental hip-hop albums.
You're listening to the #101 right now!
Ataron: I like Air's earlier material, when I'm in the mood for that sorta chic pop-euphoria stuff. Early M83, too.

What album is it. I've never listened to much DJ Shadow, except the private press, probably because of that Six Days track.Uzique wrote:

Thought so .. I've already dumped them into my chill playlist.Uzique wrote:
