Why? Instead of bitching about how all the other players dolphin dive while you get raped 24/7, how about you start dolphin diving like the rest of them? Why the fuck should the game be changed just so that it fits your playing style?nickb64 wrote:

Not really. Dolphin diving (which isn't even possible anymore, people just call instaproning dolphin diving) is not even that good strat after all the movoement restrictions and it's so fun to jump over instaproners and shoot them in the back while landing.HaiBai wrote:

Don't tell me, tell the kid who bitches about it because he keeps getting owned by dolphin divers. My point is that Dice shouldn't change the game because he can't adapt. If they change the game, they'll have to adapt to the new style. What's the point?DeathUnlimited wrote:

I wasn't bitching, I just think it's pointless, but if they want to do it, make it hurt them a little bit. I did it when I first played, but I do't really care.HaiBai wrote:

I think -5/10% health would be reasonable, but it is not necessary.
I believe awhile back I asked for a built in feature to kick crybabies automatically.
I personally think a health loss for going prone is one of the most stupid ideas ever.nickb64 wrote:

I was thinking of if you jump, then immediately prone while sprinting/running... I did that and got under something I normally couldn't a few times
Do I have an incorrect definition of "dolphin diving"???
If so, then I just explained what I was thinking.
As stated, it hasn't been possible to dolphin dive since 1.3. The talk here is about just proning and it makes fuck all difference whether it is from jump to prone or straight running instaprone. Health loss for a piece of movement is still the worst idea ever.nickb64 wrote:

I heartily agree, I happend to notice one of them has only 1700 kills over almost 500 rounds, with a kill streak of something like 138. So if a tenth of his kills came from one out of 500 rounds... man how can you even play the game like that.TehMyke wrote:

Dolphin diving is an exploit, and those who want to keep it can't handle sportsmanship and fair play.
If you disagree with me, then you have proven my point.

2. Your opinions are irrelevant since you once said solo choppering is cheating.

Dolphin diving in BF2 is like Wave-Dashing in Smash Bros.
1. You're wrong.DeathUnlimited wrote:

2. You probably use solo chopper macros as well as DD ones.

I don't think solo choppering or DDing is cheating. Sure it can be lame, cheap, annoying - and even rage inspiring - but mores the pleasure of bagging someone who does it constantly. The trick is to get your own back on them by calling for arty on their chopper pad once the solo-ers are shot out of the sky, or just using the shotguns against the DDers - spreading shot is best against them, its part of the reason why 1/3 of my time is in the AT kit - the DAO-12 is my favourite gun in the game. With solo-ers, its even better if you're commander, as you can drop cars right onto their chopper pads sometimes, that annoys the hell out of them! And if it lands directly beside them, the chopper will take damage when the car explodes in the arty fire..
What I have had a beef with is macro whoring, but the more I think about it, the more I see it staying the way it is. Its coming up to new PC time, and TBH I'm starting to think that if I can't change it I may as well join in the fun.
Some of the stuff I've suggested for BF3 is serious - all that stuff about support for custom maps, continuing to reward teamwork, maintaining game balance etc..
Incidently, dolphin diving is possible in 1.41 - like I said, you just have to press the prone key twice rapidly when midair rather than once. Still very doable, go try it.

dude, dolphin diving and solo choppering are part of the game, get used to it and adapt or never have any fun playing it. You will get the satisfaction of bitching about it in online forums though.
YEA! more realism! more freedom! like if you want to eat bowl of cerials, you can do that. But if you do, you weight more and you cant move so fast so you have to wait couple minsthatyoucangototakeashitsoyoucanrunfastagainandyoucanteattoomuchsaltoryouhavetodrinkalotoryoucantseeclearlyBlade4509 wrote:

Sniper class with rifles that, OMG, zoom in. Seriously....Sniper/Recon class should be able to choose between a Designated Marksman Rifle (with the standard zoom from BF2), a sniper rifle (M24:with double the zoom capability), long distance sniper rifle (M 95/M 107 with x3 the zoom).
Also, I think multiple camo choices would be awesome. Like, the ghillie suit for the usmc for forested areas, a burlap flap suit for urban environments, or none at all; so as to go DM.
Include McDs restaurants as static objects, so that mappers can make military bases more realistic
One thing that annoys me is quick reloading a weapon.
If you have 3 bullets left and you reload (for example) your M16, there is still one bullet in the chamber and the rifle is still ready to fire.
Therefore, taking the clip out and put a new one back in should be enough to continue firing. This might just save
you enough time to get a kill instead of get killed. (also you should have 31 instead of 30 bullets)
Also i do not like the team kill handling as it is now. If i am in a firefight and one of my teammates jumps right in front of my gun while i am firing it, then i get minus points for a team kill. Even though it is his fault. I would like to see the punish/forgive option to decide if you lose points yes or no.
The host of a server should be able to turn the use of exploding devices off in infantry games (so no grenades, no claymores and no c4)
Balanced Kill/Death ratio. On much servers, you see one team playing with a negative average KD ratio, while the other team has an average of 3+
Most of the times this means that one side (the one with 3...) has got most of the team players while the other side does not function as a team at all.
Dividing the team players might improve overall team play.
From the things i read here i would like to see
- Defense Game Mode (by nickb64);
- Customizable classes (by Longbow);
- Customizable weapons (by Longbow);
- More urban maps (by Longbow);
- Grenades and Claymores should not be resupplied (this is already mentioned here somewhere but i cannot find by who )
I do not agree with changes of vehicles or airplanes to improve team play.
You can use a tank to go to an enemy base and score a lot of easy points or you can use it to support your team infantry troops.
It is the driver of the tank and not the tank itself that improves team play (or the opposite).
Airplanes and helicopters cover armored vehicles, armored vehicles cover infantry, infantry captures outposts and all of this is directed by the commander.
That is team play and it is already possible in BF2 as it is right now. Not only the game can use some changes....

Only problem with this is that many people will automatically punish even if it was their fault.DrevdZanden wrote:

They seem to have their finger glued to the page down button...
That said, I agree with your idea, but I don't think it would be used effectively most of the time, sadly.

Another idea. Since the F35B was a flying slug in BF2 (and this is some what justified, considering it is designed to support landing Marines), I think they should give it missile pods and a more powerful cannon like the harrier has, so that it can use its hover feature effectively. Also, more jet selection, instead of the same seven jets for every map.
Make X-meds a full member, for the sake of 15 year old anal gangbang porn watchers everywhere!
Haha, you are right about the page down button.nickb64 wrote:

That is what i meant with "Not only the game can use some changes"
It is the creators job to make a good game.
It is the gamers job to play it fair and decent

Don't play IO servers.
Don't play 24/7 servers.
Don't play during school holidays.
Don't play with low ranked people unless you know who they are.
