Hahahaha. A tonne for a number 10. Nice.

I must say I am very impressed with Shane Watson's batting. For someone just thrown into the position, he has handled himself very well.

Damn Ricky was having a good bat. Seemed to lose the plot a bit there.

I figured this would happen.  Once England started pitching the ball up at bit and got their rhythm back, the ball was doing enough for them to start taking quick wickets.

I've just noticed that the entire English team was caught out...

That's quite unusual.

Also, I'm starting to feel for the people who bought tickets for the last two days of play. We might not make it that far at this rate.

That's what happens when you pitch it up on the right line and your bouncers are well directed (Johnson deserved at least two more btw - if the slips were full, he had Prior in the bag). You get nicks, edges, etc.

Advice to Broad:

1. Don't go off at the teammates when you can't get it right yourself.
2. Don't go off at the umpire for calling a wide ball a wide.
3. There are stumps there for a reason, aim at them.

Can England bat for another 3 days?

Hahahahaha. I wonder if the English military have some sort of weather making machine, as that's about the only chance they have.

By far the worst batting performance I've seen from a top class team and one of the worst performances all round.

It would have been interesting if Pointing had tried to take the extra half hour. Could have been all over in 2 days

At the moment I'm wondering if they can avoid breaking some records for biggest loss at home.

Cricket fanatics own up to fire-drill prank

An Australian cricket supporter group has admitted responsibility for a fire-drill prank which forced the English team out of their hotel on the opening morning of the fourth Ashes Test.

Warren Livingston, head of the Fanatics, told The Sunday Telegraph that one of its 100-member group had set the fire alarm off at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Leeds at 4.30am, with the intention of disrupting the English team's sleep.

Livingstone described the prank as "good old-fashioned Aussie hijinks".
"Yes it was one of our guys who did it as a bit of a prank. I got a text message after it happened," Livingston told the English newspaper.

"At first I thought ... we're just doing our bit for Australia. But I can't condone this sort of thing.

"I don't want any trouble. We've all had a big laugh and it might have made a difference, the way they batted."

Players were left standing in the street for more than 20 minutes while two fire crews searched the premises for the source of the alarm.

Hours later on Friday morning the England team travelled to Headingley where they were dismissed for 102 in their first innings after winning the toss in the fourth Test of the five-game series which the home side leads 1-0.

Australia have dominated the fourth Test and need five second-innings wickets on Sunday's third day's play, leading by 261 runs, to claim a likely innings victory.

Well played Strayer, you must be fav's now to win the series, England; 'Hows ya fucking nerves'?  They must be shitting it.  All the momentum is with Strayer but you never know in this sport.  Up until now its been very close, well played Australia.  England MUST win starting in 10 days time.

Trott in... what is with your youth/grade cricket system? Why are so many of your players coming from SA?

Fuck only knows Sparky.  We were on about this the other day watching a game down the club, we started on Robin and Graham Smith, Allan Lamb and went through the years calling out the players who have played for England who wern't born here.

Our youth aint bad if you have a look at the England Lions vs Strayer card.  Jame Harris and Jamie Darylmple are both Glamorgan books.  England have a problem picking Glamorgan players, admittidly they are rarely good enough but the chance they get given seems to vanish after one failure with bat or ball where as I feel other county players get 9 lives.

Its no fault of England if a boy from a foriegn country comes here at a young age (England probably take more than their share of foreigners) and then develop's into a fine cricketer good enough to represent his country.  Maybe just perhaps its to do with getting coached at a 4/5/6 year old age?

England will always produce good young players who were born here and some who wern't, its the ones with funny accents that stand out.

You missed Cardiff off, its low 20,000 I think, maybe even mid teens (just like the women, urghhhhh no, nev mind, moving on) Cricket is not our national sport, I suppose its up there with Tennis in the summer but it dosent attract the media coverage that Football and Rugby do.  If they built anything over 40k they would have to drop the price of the tickets so they could fill it.  Its always been a corperate thing where bankers take clients for a nice day out.  There again, which sport isn't.
