Can't really move stuff with a mini ya know.
so just use a van?
Can't pour dirt or rocks in a van.  Or maybe salt so people can drive in the winter.  You see Ted, the US is comprised of many different climate types.

not to bring this further offtopic but I use the bed of my tundra all the time - piling hay for the horses, things like gasoline and cedar shavings that can be giant messes in a van or the likes. i've moved big old rocks in it and giant tree stumps and piles of branches.

Looks like Obama isn't releasing data on the Cash for Clunkers because a large percentage went to foreign carmakers:

You sir are correct.  I don't have a problem with them (alot of their plants are here in the United States).  But as for "transparency" Obama said his administration was going to have...holding this report while the Senate is about to spend another $2 billion dollars on this program to me is dishonest - but that's nothing we haven't expected, right?

i'm sure he's willing to pay the freight - gas prices, insurance, everything - there are some things you gotta have a truck to do. i've got an s-10 to pull a waverunner, stow the camping gear, and go outbound with. does it have a V-8? no, don't need it.

Anyone who supports this program think we should increase it beyond the $2 billion we're about to allocate this week for this?  And if so why?

News report last night about knuckleheads doing the same thing with cars that they did with houses...using govt incentives to buy something they can't afford. Car sales are through the roof, but some local insiders are concerned about the quality of customers being approved to buy these vehicles. That, and wondering if they will actually get the money from the government.

Your point?

I'm just thinking whether all the dealers will be held holding the bag.  Or if the dealers will charge the people who got cars $3500-$4500 - I see alot of law suits coming down the pipe.

Two, damn right it should reduce the market for your domestics, they failed so badly you, the public practically bought them out yes? maybe they should have taken a leaf out of the asian/euro manufactures and made a product worth fucking buying lol.

It has resulted in the destruction of perfectly usable cars that would normally have gone to the used car/used auto parts markets to supply people who can’t afford new cars/auto parts thus driving up prices for them while simultaneously subsidizing new debt for people buying new cars throught he program.
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me.

The car's engines are the only things being destroyed at the dealership, the cars go to junkyards which have a run on the entire car for whatever parts they want. Anything none usable is destroyed. If anything an increase in old auto parts would drive auto parts prices down and truthfully it's not like thousands of the same cars are being traded in so prices are going to be left unaffected.

What’s really going to be bad is when the auto dealers realize that a good chunk of their potential customers for the next year or so all bought cars now instead of buying them later.  Meaning that while car sales were higher than normal during this program, they’re going to be lower than they would have been for quite a while after.
Grrr, autodealers make a good amount of their profit from servicing cars, hell most dealerships make more on servicing the cars then they do selling them. Either way they'll be making money off of this in the longterm.
