Bf2 ---> Reset Computer

Hello, I am trying to get back on to Bf2, but everytime I click on the icon to play, it loads bf2, then restarts the computer.
It gets to that solid black screen on bf2 (the one before the EA games thing) and just restarts.

I ran a Symantec Scan, and it came up with a: backdoor.trivster (something around that) which was located in temporary internet files.
I deleted the files, which should delete the virus, but I just can't open Bf2.

What should I do?

Sorry, im not a tech person, but how do I reformat?
And Sammy, I bought the disk, 3 years ago.
I've always played on a disk.

Try running a scan from malwarebytes.com Download the software and update it, then run a scan. It sounds like you either still have a virus or your video drivers might be broken and need to be re-installed.

I would just do a full reformat. It sounds like your PC is full of viruses and the likes.

Thanks Irish, although only one virus was detected, I can send it to some guy I know.
He can probably help.

Will try the reformat now.

Just found out how, but I'll send it to a guy so I don't screw it up myself.

After reformat, that means I need to reinstall BF2 and whatnot?

Before you reformat try booting into safe mode and try a virus scan then, you might as well download AVG free if your thinking about reformatting as I've always used that and works better than anything else, if you still can't play then some of your windows files or other files might be corrupt from virus so format would be easiest- does it only happen on BF2 (the restarting)?
If not or if you reformat and put clean windows on and it still happens it's probably your power supply- I've had problems on 2 of my comps with random shutdowns and restarts and it was the power supply on both of them

No, I have always used this monitor to play BF2.

I last played on June 18th or so.
