But it's huuuuuuuuuge!

So I might as well save the money, yeah. Well that was a nice full circle I just went in.

(And I wonder what that exclamation mark next to the Phenom in my shopping basket means)

yeah jsut noticed how overpriced it is. The P182 would have been much cheaper, bastards have dropped it out of the selection at ebayer.

I just got a tape measure and compared it to my current case. For one thing, it would stick out from under my desk (depth). Also, it looks like it's considerably taller.

Useful post:

My brother (Jay) has the 900. It is quite big. Much bigger than the average case. He's having to buy a new desk because it won't fit under his current one. It's an awesome looking case though. Really sturdy too. Nice pop-up part on top with USB, Firewire, headphones etc. CD drives are hidden behind a swing door. Looks really good.

Pretty much the same dimensions as my current Antec Sonata. And I would consider those dimensions to be reasonably average.

FACTS:

I read the old 900 thread 2 years ago. Everyone drooled how great the case looks in the marketing pics and the features it supposedly possess.

When ppl actually got their hands on it, they noticed its cable management sucks and it is terribad dust magnet.

If you'd actually read this thread, liquidator does not exactly praise sidepanel windows either, same goes probably for the leds.

+ Its far from quiet case. If you think it is, you haven't ever had one.

stop sucking other ppl's cock and get some facts right.

Antec 900 is overhyped. If not going for the 300, I'd pick sonata. That's one slick looking case. It's also very silent (Even more so if the tricool fans are replaced with some awsm quality ones. The tricools are decently powerful on the lowest rpm though, and just about inaudible.)

EDIT: Oh you have sonata currently lolz.

everything you said there is nice.  yeah, the cooling is great (well, not anymore thanks to the shitty cable management), but you pay in terms of silence and having to clean it out all the time.  i mean, it's not awfully loud, but it's not whisper quiet either.

I absolutely hate the 900. It looks like a Japanese drift car and is a bitch to do any cable management. The HAF looks shit as well, imo.

I <3 Antec. I used to have the Sonata II, which is awesome, and now I have the P182, which is... best.

I haven't read up on the P183, but it doesn't look as good, and doesn't have a lot of new features from the P182.

Did some shopping around. Have bought components from two different sites. Opted for components that were in stock on each site. Opted for 5 working day delivery. Consequences:

- Ended up with an equivalent Western Digital HDD
- Threw in a memory card reader
- Saved myself £54

Order placed! Yey!

just fyi, if you need straight performance (i.e. your OS/programs disc), you'll want a model that isn't green.  green models fluctuate between 5400 and 7200RPM to save power and reduce heat

Did not know that. I will be using it for storage only so thats only a benefit for me. There is no way to disable that?
