its not even an expansion. They're literally just remaking shit they've already done slightly differently, adding content to the game that could already have been in it on release, and using it to double the cash they get for one game.
it's clever and it's vile
Huh?
With all the DLCs you get a total of 29 maps in BF3.
In BF2, you could get a total of 30 maps with EF, AF and SF.
And that cost me €100 retail price too. For BF3 I paid €87 so far.
Apparently, BF2 was already vile, because they demanded money for 14 additional maps and stuff from the boosters and the expansion.
the booster packs weren't made out to be mandatory though, were they? they were hardly played at all. just separate little expansions you could easily ignore (which I did). This BF3 premium is turning out to be, like some have put it, a way to divide the playerbase into 'proper' players, and lower-class players.
granted, 30 maps on release would have been a lot. But, that still does not even nearly justify a pricetag of 100 euros for the game.
It's basically analogous to Special Forces, which you practically HAD to have to play BF2 properly. That was just as much of a dick move, but not as expensive. I think I picked up both BF2 and SF for 60 euros combined. Now they're doing the same thing, but for a much higher price
so yes, what they did with BF2 and SF was also 'vile' to an extent, but it's not nearly as much of a face fuck as this is
