I lol'd at the Ibrahimovic deal. It's just funny.

How much was it on top of Eto?

3 great signings by Chelsea thus far- Zhirkov, Sturridge and Turnbull. Really happy with all of those.
Let's be honest Jens, we signed the 2 english guys just to make up the numbers for the home grown player rule in the champions league squad.
Sturridge is a good prospect but he doesn't have a prayer of getting in the team with our strikers, even Di Santo will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
I disagree about Sturridge.

If Chelsea are going to play 4-4-2, we need a "defensive striker" (or hanging or whatever, dunno what you call it in english ). Anelka is absolutely useless in that position. He is a front striker, nothing else. He keeps wandering down to the midfeilders when paired with Drogba. He should be a back-up for Drogba, not a partner.

Sturridge on the other hand has technique, a good passing foot and just fits better in the role as Drogbas partner. And he's young and will only get better. I'd rather see him partner Drogba than Anelka.

We should buy Agüero tbh, he fits the bill perfectly

I wish Stoke would hurry up and make a couple more signings 'cus we need 'em.
A week or so ago it was apparently all but a done deal that we would sign Ashton, but now it looks like it ain't happening, and we are being linked with Nugent. Whom would be a decent backup striker but not quite the quality that I think we need to progress sufficiently. On the other hand we are trying to buy/loan James Vaughan from Everton, who if he stays fit could provide us with a good pacy option up front/on the wing.
We also need more quality/depth with creative midfielders and perhaps another fullback/centre back.

So yeah we better get a fucking shift on...

James Collins to Stoke.  He played on for us with a broken leg once.  He always gives 100% but will make mistakes, afterall he is human.

Last night some places said we had signed him, although today it still has been officially announced and apparently personal talks have hit a snag. Just have to wait and see if it goes through or not, I think the main stumbling block could be that if he did come, he would only be backup to Shawcross/Faye.
If we sign him though I'll be happy looks like a decent player from what I've seen of him and the price doesn't look to steep either.

After reading Schloppy and Switch "discussing" Kenwynne Jones the Championship thread, I thought Switch might be interested in this (although I thought I'd post it here so as not to derail the other thread).

Stoke will attempt to lure Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones to the Britannia Stadium with a £12m bid. (Sunday Express)

Also from the Stoke editor at TeamTalk:

"This is another area that Pulis wants to add pace and he remains hopeful of completing a shock move for Sunderland hitman Kenwyne Jones before the deadline.

The Potters first approached Steve Bruce about the 24-year-old three weeks ago and were surprised to hear the Mackems chief is willing to let him leave the Stadium of Light.

The two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee and a transfer could go through in a matter of days, although it would appear to rest on Sunderland lining up a replacement. "

Dunno how true it is and as it says I too am surprised you would let him go, but if we do sign him I think it would a be great signing for us...

Yeah, I read that earlier today.

Although there's probably a grain of truth in the rumours, I personally think it's a non-starter.

-Spurs offered us £20m for him in January which we rejected, it would probably take a significantly higher bid than £12m to convince us to part with him.
-Bruce wants to establish a side worthy of challenging the top 6, and has already stated that none of our best players are for sale.
-Bent and Jones look to be forming a potentially lethal partnership.
-Jones just signed a new contract in January, making him Sunderland's highest ever earner.
-We don't need the money.

I don't blame you guys for being interested as he is an awesome player, but selling Jones would just make no sense what-so-ever.  I would be massively pissed off if we did sell him (especially for £12m), I love the bloke.

Yeah but Man City can buy whoever they want because they have the cash. Remind you of anyone in recent years? (no, not Real Madrid, I mean some team in blue in London..)

Ledley to Stoke, Wigan, Everton or whoever, this has dragged and dragged all summer.

We have just signed someone from KP's Daggers

http://www.cardiffcity-mad.co.uk/news/l … ;id=460065

and recently added Kelvin Uthuhu or someone from Man City on loan.

Yeah apparently we have a renewed interest in Ledley, and tbh I do think we need someone else in midfield, especially someone who can cover on the left 'cus at the moment Etherington just doesn't look confident on the ball.
If we do get him I think he may well be our last signing, as we've already spent around £3mill on Whitehead, and it looks like we will complete the signings of Huth for £6mill and possibly Tuncay for the same amount soon.

Robben to Munich - 25 million Euros

Sneijder to Inter - 15 million.

What a stupid move by Madrid.

What posistion does Sneijder play?

Has Ronald taken Robben's place in the starting 11?

Yes

Sneijder is attacking midfielder I believe

And dunno but they do have a lot of people to accommodate now so probably.

SSN reporting that we have signed Tuncay and Huth for a combined fee off around £11mill.
2 very good signings imo, particularly Tuncay as he will provide us some of the creative that we lack sometimes in the final third, and for a bargain price to boot.

As I SSN are saying the deal is done, but there hasn't actually been an official announcement made yet...

Joe Ledley staying and signing his new contract is the latest with us.

Trundle going back to the Jacks on loan and Craig Beattie aswell, should be interesting as Trundle left The Jerks on bad terms, he might not be the hero he once was, I reckon he's a failure at this level, Beattie might do better.

Stoke have completed signings of Huth and Tuncay.
Also being linked with Danny Collins at Sunderland and some Urguayan midfielder called Diego Arismendi. Some papers are also saying that we had a £10mill bid for Kenwyne Jones rejected (no real surprise there if true) can't see that one going any further.

Looks like Stoke are turning out to be one of the big movers and shakers in the transfer market this year...
never thought I'd be saying that
