Sean Askay, a Google engineer, released on Sunday a Google Earth layer, called Map the Fallen, that contains detailed information of more than 5,700 service members who died in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. This is an interactive tool that lets you see photos, learn about how each service member died, visit memorial Web sites with comments from friends and families, and explore the places they called home and where they died

The images I posted don't do it justice. Use the program.. it draws a line to where they died and brings up their picture/information.

I know. Its just that 112 (I am certain its 112??) of those deaths are Canadian. That is a small percent compared to the Americans, even though 112 is 112 to many to die. This whole thing is a big eye opener I can tell you that.

Terrible loss of life but does it even compare to the 18 odd Million allied soldiers who lost their life in a war which lasted 3/4 of the time? As 'wars' go this is a pretty friendly one.
