Anyway, BF2 is a pretty much success, and if it had a patch which would solve all the problems listed in '1.5 wishlist',released soon after the game was launched, with fixed hitreg and more balanced maps and jets, without pb but with good cheat prevention, it could even be more popular than cod4 today, imo. Looking forward to BFBC2, i hope it won't be too much arcade...

Yep, it is right ammount of arcade, whereas in BF:BC it is way too much of arcade (unrealistic magazine capacity, unrealistic RPM's, full auto M16, useless GL, etc).Sup wrote:

i think the hitreg is fine, you do get some dust shots but so does everyone else, and i rarely get dust anyway if hitreg was really that bad surely people wouldnt be playing it.
Judging by the 1.5 beta patch, because you cant change the controls.con file to have any effect any more or change the localization files properly, I'm guessing that instead of tweaking the hitreg that they just made the usersettings.con file act as default, I;ve been using changed usersettings in 1.41 and when I played the 1.5 beta it felt like default usersettings (i can tell a difference) Im prob wrong but i was thinking if they did make the usersettings act as default (nomatter what is typed into them) it might make it better as everyones got the same interpolation etc and maybe in 1.41 where everyone had different usersettings that it made hitreg worse? or worse on certain people? if that makes any sense

if 1.5 came out 2 years ago, and really fixed the game almost perfectly, i think still would be playing BF2 till this day. i gave those morons at EA/DICE two chances 1) fix bf2 and 2) make a kickass 2142 instead it plays like a MOD. i played 2142 and it did not feel as epic as BF2... since they did neither, well i have no sympathy for those fools. I don't see how a new patch offering new content could possibly harm the longevity of a game. If anything the patch will bring some old players back because DICE seems to be listening to the community for once. As long as the new patch isn't horribly flawed *1.3** then i don't see BF2 dieing any time soon.

lol how is it? ive never played a game with such a good learning curve, when i first played cod4, TF2 and UT3 i just felt its too easy because tis so quick and the hitboxes on them games are massive so you hardly ever miss- bores me
Play against me and then tell me bf2 is the easiest game ever. I'm not even close to amazing, but I am good and probably way better than you. I love bf2 and I'm sure the people owning servers aren't planning on shutting them down anytime soon so EA will keep getting their money they all want and bf2 will stay alive. Its dead to people that can't play. I've been thinking about this thread and came to this conclusion. People die off bf2, bf2 doesn't die It will happen eventually but I don't see it happening anytime in the near future
