So apparently, the US army, or at least one division of it, has named an operation "operation Call of Duty" And yes, it is named after the game. It's ironic that the Operation's goal is to bring "law and order to Jaghato (A district of Afghanistan)."
I already know that the Army's UAV operators play Xbox in their free time, one article stated that they played "Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 4 (This was before 5 came out), and other games" (not America's Army ). But this is taking it one step too far, IMO. Not that the US Army's names for operations has gotten better over time.
