Normally I would applaud this. But shit, It was LA that was spared, and its peace at any price, liberal, and illegal immigrant, inhabitants. Oh well, I guess in this case, waterboarding backfired.

If it thwarted the attack, then how did it backfire?

(Also, wtf is waterboarding? They didn't explain it in the article.)

Waterboarding
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Waterboarding is a form of torture[1][2] that consists of immobilizing the victim on his or her back with the head inclined downwards, and then pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages. By forced suffocation and inhalation of water, the subject experiences drowning and is caused to believe they are about to die.[3] It is considered a form of torture by legal experts,[4][5] politicians, war veterans,[6][7] intelligence officials,[8] military judges,[9] and human rights organizations.[10][11] As early as the Spanish Inquisition it was used for interrogation purposes, to punish and intimidate, and to force confessions.[12]

In contrast to submerging the head face-forward in water, waterboarding precipitates a gag reflex almost immediately.[13] The technique does not inevitably cause lasting physical damage. It can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage or, ultimately, death.[4] Adverse physical consequences can start manifesting months after the event; psychological effects can last for years.[14]

In 2007 it was reported that the CIA was using waterboarding on extrajudicial prisoners and that the United States Department of Justice had authorized the procedure,[15][16] a revelation that sparked a worldwide political scandal. Al-Qaeda suspects upon whom the CIA is known to have used waterboarding include Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Zubaydah, and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri.[17][18]

Honestly, ive seen that picture before of that guy (How could I forget, look at him!) So, if this was a recent event that was stopped, and that photo is of him after he was captured, how could I have seen it before?

I think they just want people to get the impression waterboarding saved them...Or maybe that isn't an actual photo of the guy they waterboarded...

Edit:

Apparently the government already broke up the plot on LA in 2002, before they captured this KSM guy in 2003,

The White house put out a Fact Sheet stating: "In 2002, we broke up a plot by KSM to hijack an airplane and fly it into the tallest building on the West Coast... KSM stated that the intended target was the Library Tower in Los Angeles." KSM was not captured until March 2003 in Pakistan. It is impossible that this plot was foiled due to waterboarding KSM since he wasn't captured yet!

/Conspiracy theory
It's just worded oddly, they meant this is the guy, who after being waterboarded, gave up info...etc.

Chuck Norris lives in Houston.  edit:  Okay, Navasota, TX.  A bit outside Houston.  But he does have a house in LA, I will grant you that.

Do you think that if someone was torturing you to find out information relating to any terror plans you have, and that they would only stop once you told them something you would just make it up? Torture is torture, values are values, and if you are brought up to believe that values should never be compromised then torture isn't acceptable.

I despise

1. Islam
2. laziness
3. entitlement
4. liberal ideology
5. special rights
6. illegal immigration
7. socialism
8. racial double standards in all of its forms including affirmative action
9. criminal coddling

These are the things I post on, none of which is a race. You have never read anywhere where I have stated anything about hating any race. So I will thank you to either quote where I have, or stop accusing me of being a racist.

Despising 'Islam' for a start is a huge example of bigotry, and in religious and racial terms bigotry and racism are interchangeable, surely.
