That'd be Pakistan.

2/3rds of country is out of the control of the government.

In Afghanistan, it's easy to understand, difficult to execute. But in Pakistan, it is very difficult to understand and it's extremely difficult for us to generate any leverage, because Pakistan does not want our help.
Dont get involved then? It might sound stupid but getting involved might just make it more f**ked up!

I saw an interview with some top General of Pakistan army, he sounded like he knew what was goin on and wasnt bothered by it! reckons he can control the 'bad people' as he said. Ill try and find it somewhere.

The leader of the Pakistani Armed forces doesn't follow the government's orders if he doesn't feel like it TPM.

That's how fucked up the country is at the moment. The government is losing its grip.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

This isn't new. Pakistan has nuclear weapons pointed at India, who have their own pointed back at Pakistan.

Next to terrorists, the other very real threat is a military coup.

They had one of those a while back. Pakistan was much more sedate under Musharraf...for a while.

The thing about coups is that they usually are overthrown by another.

We actually supported Musharraf.  We were giving his government billions on a monthly basis.

We're not on the best of terms with his replacement.

Eh...  Musharraf wasn't really a dictator.  He was too weak to be that.

Honestly, what Pakistan needs right now is either a dictator or just needs to be split into about 5 pieces.

what?
Military coup    Check
Appointing himself leader    Check
Suspending the Constitution   Check
Not a dictator in the classical sense but certainly falls in there.

Well, maybe weak dictator is a better term.

Saddam, for example, was much more effective.

Jesus that was a quick reply.

pakistan's leaders will continue to hold its hands out for aid which it claims will be used for fighting terrorism

most will not be

pakistan is not ready for democracy....it seems many muslim countries only function with a dictator.....too little education for the masses and too much emphasis on a religion that is taught to the people by so called clerics with little real education themselves but a religious fervour

the taliban is what many want

in britain we have some of these same nut jobs asking for sharia law ..........and our pathetic government is entertaining the idea to keep muslims on side......they have learned nothing about appeasement and pandering
