Kind of sad really, how being an atheist became something trendy for young people to say they are.
We should go back to the good old days where atheism was not trendy. And would get you burnt at the steak for it.
Gimme a break. I'm so sorry I didn't go to a religious school and attend Church every sunday. lol I chose atheism not because it was trendy, but because Science over rules religion in so many ways I can't accept God(s) as responsible.
It was once believed the Earth was the centre of the Universe because God said so. Oops. Science has proved otherwise.
I don't understand, that's why I didn't reply before. You want me to entertain you? You want me to condone your entertainment?usmarine wrote:

He's saying for you to explain your quote because in the movie he doesn't necessarily say anyone is right or wrong. Except for at the end. All he does is point out flaws in someones beliefs and ask them how they can possibly know.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

That has nothing to do with what he quoted though.xBlackPantherx wrote:

Video games and forums are primarily what I do when I'm not working on school work or up until recently spending a lot of time on a science fair project...as far as movies I like archetypal action/adventure hero stuff for the most part. Childhood favorite was Robin Hood, so think that with more booms and boobs.usmarine wrote:

what does that have to do with this movie or those who watch it?
I'm not sure. You're the one who asked the question. I believe I had insulted your form of entertainment.usmarine wrote:

i dont get your comment at all to which i was quoting.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

My point was I don't know why you would pay someone $10 to tell you how right you are for two hours. I would not classify that as entertainment. Unless you hold so little conviction in your beliefs that you need someone to tell you what they are (which I don't think you do) I don't know why you want to listen to someone reiterating what you already know.usmarine wrote:

what you classify as entertainment has little to do with anything. i was aiming this at the "believers," not the people going to hell or whatever.
Did you expect to actually convert anyone?usmarine wrote:

There is zero probability that either you or the movie are going to turn anyone away from religion that is already firmly rooted in it. That leaves the only motivation for either of you to be solidifying the base of atheism, telling people what the already know.
or it serves as a debate you clown
"debate" implies the ability to persuade.
are you new here?Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Debates usually only serve to get people more engulfed in the opinion they had in the first place.

Debates serve to persuade those of reason and rationality towards a side. What we have here are not debates.
Not that I would have it any other way.
