A father and daughter from a US church which preaches hatred of homosexuals have been banned from entering the UK.

Fred Phelps and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper from the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) had urged protests against a play being put on in Hampshire.

I guess this along with that Dutch guy, is being done as some sort of message that the UK extends its banning disciplines across the whole spectrum, so what's your thoughts on this? Once again, inhibiting free speech, appeasing gays and soldiers or a job well done and a ban worthy of a ban?

Personally, I think the latter. Same with the Dutch guy, and the crazy Muslims. Look yeah, I'm all for free speech, but we'd all really just be better off without these nutters coming in

I kinda feel the same way. Personally, I don't want any kind of extremists in my country, be they white 'Christians', Muslims, or worse still, the Dutch. I don't have a problem deporting people for hate speech, so I can't really say that it bothers me not allowing those kinds of people to visit.

WBC are a hateful bunch but banning them seems silly. Really it just gives them more press and publicity by added them to this list.

I still don't fully understand why they protest Soldiers funerals and say "Thank God for dead Soldiers" etc.. I mean, where's the connection of all of that to what they do?

Ok, so they just hate everything and everyone and see it all as Gods act or something. I still don't fully get it though, although I guess I'm not supposed to actually get why these guys do what they do
